Beauty Advent Calendars Thread 13 - lucky for us, unlucky for Ryan the Bot

[SheilaFentiman]

Welcome to Thread 13 and happy unboxing to all who sail (sale??) in her as we swap tips, tricks, frustrations and joys of the BAC/FAC journey.

Not too long until Black Friday discounts so keep your fingers crossed and some room on your credit card

Key link for all the calendars via the very lovely MaryBD of the calendars https://beauty-detective.com/category/beauty-advent-calendars/

Though lots of ACs are out of stock already, so beware (and extra double beware of anything Selfridges Fragrance related!!)

It’s very satisfying, isn’t it 🤣

@Growlybear83 - it is although also annoying as we know how many people really wanted them. Interesting to see prices coming down on ebay too.

There are absolutely loads of Lust in Paradise on Vinted for around £130. Perhaps resellers are starting to split the calendars? This was the only one I really wanted but I will be content with my 3 travel sizes

I know many people on here had luck with Glossybox BAC discounts on the TikTok shop, but it never worked for me. I bought it for £75 with their monthly subscription (a subscription box costs £6 and you also get a mystery box if you sign up to their emails).

Glossybox was available to me on tiktok with vouchers a few days ago for £100 - I didn't buy it.

I would really love a discount on the ASOS BAC but no discount codes worked for me on it

It's showing as £85 on their website atm.

@PunnyCyanBearmine arrived at the Hinckley depot and has gone missing/not moved since 9 October. Did you get a tracking number? The DPD app says mine needs “rework” which I guess means it’s fallen into the back of someone car! Selfridges are investigating and I should have an update in the next couple of days.

@GrainoftuthSalt I have just randomly checked the ASOS app and you can get the BAC with 20% off with the code HEYAPP . Hurry if you want it because they often pull the BAC from any discount codes

@IlovePond I so agree!! CS is absolutely appalling at most places now. I don't even know where to shop anymore.

A quick fyi as someone was asking yesterday, Harrods has sent an email confirming my home fragrance calendar is on the way .

I too am having great fun with Vinted. I’ve managed to get eight SFACs removed today! 😂

Amazing thankyou!!! Just ordered! Had to opt in to notifications and mailing list etc, but will opt out all that now. 💙

Oh no @IlovePond, that's so crap! Customer service has gone down the toilet hasn't it. I'm so sorry.

Thanks @DidILeaveTheGasOn - it really has 🙀

11 SFAC sellers taken down so far, he he he.
Some seem to keep popping back up though, it’s a bit like whack a mole.
I have transferred my Vinted balance in case suddenly
they decide I’m being a pain in the arse & ban me instead of the scalpers, we know how bloody random Vinted can be….

Those are the adds I keep seeing. Do you not think this is very deliberate attempt to make us think that there is fragrance advent available? The last year's advert is always first followed by different fragrances followed by other cosmetics

I have somehow been pulled into the BAC madness 🥶 and so far have bought:

HFAC (as a birthday gift to me);
Glossybox (TWO - one for my mum and one will probably be a present for my best friend);
ASOS (for my teen);
Perfume Shop (to share with my teen).

I am still in the market for:

M & S (if there's a discount at some point although it might sell out before it's discounted);
Men's BAC (as a birthday present for my brother).

I am very much enjoying the stories of whack-a-mole SFAC Vinted Vigilantes! Well done ladies!

I’ve just seen in the M&S app if you spend £40 on beauty you can get an £8 reward. I wonder if this includes the calendar?

Omg that is embarrassing and so pathetic!!!

I believe so! Mine expired today though so check the date on your offer (I bought some perfume)

My M&S rewards just show a £5 voucher on a £20 beauty spend. I guess it's something though.
