LVL lash lift HORROR

I just got this done (lash lift & tint) as I have pale browny eyelashes and read that this can make you look like you have mascara on without the effort. Lazybones over here thought that sounded great; I'm sick of feeling like a frump and putting make up on everyday is a bit of a faff.

Anyway - the colour is fine (I used to tint my own lashes at home anyway till they discontinued the good stuff) but the lift looks INSANE, and not in a good way. Like... lashes at a 45 degree angle, sticking straight upwards, and now sort of tucked away into the creases of my eyelids 😂

It's a laugh or cry situation and I know it's daft, because of course they'll grow out, but I'm going to a thing tomorrow and I was hoping this would make me feel pretty again but now I just feel like I want to wear sunglasses for the next month and hope nobody asks about it.

If you're considering it... don't.

Anyone have any tips on how to lessen the effects sooner? Google says it'll take 6 weeks to grow out. Pity me. Je suis foolish. And odd looking.

Have you told whoever did them?

Anxioustealady · 09/10/2026 15:11

When did you get it done? If within 24 hours if you get your lashes wet the shape won't hold as much

BlackSwan · 09/10/2026 15:11

I'm really sorry - I had a similar experience once, and felt like a total mug because I had paid top dollar for it to be done at Harrods. One eye was okayish... but the lashes on the other side crinkled up,

I had a wedding to go to, so couldn't ride out the 6 weeks... I had a lash extension from a trusted lash technician. It was still pretty dire when I had them removed (I don't like lash extensions left on for ages) but eventually they grew out.

I use Obagi lash growth serum & they grew out well. What a drama through.

Lamelie · 09/10/2026 15:13

Are you sure it looks weird? Eyelash curlers do them at an angle too.

I actually couldn't see them properly when they showed me in the salon - it sort of looked ok at first so I just paid and went on my merry way. But they felt so weird on the way home I went straight to the bathroom to have a closer look and ohhhhhhh yep I look awful. Washed them a few times to try and make them feel less weird but I'm not sure it's helped.

You know when you fall asleep face down with mascara on, and your eyelashes sort of stick to your eyelids? That's my new look for the next six weeks.

She's a cautionary tale, everyone.

I don't suppose there's anything the salon can do now anyway, I just won't go back.

Can you post a pic so peiple can advise ?

behindtheanimalhouse · 09/10/2026 15:17

They will probably settle a bit. And yes wash them, wipe them with facial oil and cotton wool.

I've tried but the pics are all blurry and you can't see it properly.

Also just noticed that some of the bottom lashes are all scrunched up and bent out of shape.

I'm actually so upset now. I don't have time to go back today but I might message the salon WhatsApp and tell them I've had a closer look and am unhappy. I can't believe I paid £55 for this. Ffs.

I had this. They permed really curly, was awful. Try a heated eyelash curler maybe ? Might help with the curl .

SeaGlassDreamer · 09/10/2026 15:37

The first time I had them done they looked amazing. Had them done a few times since and they just didn’t take - looked exactly the same. I asked online and people said it’s to do with the skill of the beautician but the 2nd time was with the same beautician. Tried a few other places and just didn’t take either.

seasally · 09/10/2026 15:38

This happened to me too. They were all like right angles and I was going away the next day so couldn't go back. I think they just wore off after a bit, it was a few years ago.

They can relax them basically its perming so if they reapply the solution at the salon and comb them out they can relax them.

Whatmesurelynot · 09/10/2026 15:42

Also they will relax naturally over the next few weeks if you dont fancy going back

I get mine done every few weeks and honestly, they look amazing each time. I go to the same lady. First time I tried I went to another lady and it just fell flat. My usual lady is amazing. I can’t go without now!

Has it helped? Do you have something like an eye safe oil? I'd apply that to your lashes

I had the same thing, lashes all bent, some of my lower ones curled up (I think thats due to over processing and unfortunately they'll stay like that until they fall out). I got my brows laminated at the same time, they dyed them really dark. I was very blonde at the time so looked like Alistair Darling. It will all grow out eventually

HornyHornersPinger · 09/10/2026 16:03

Go back to your lash tech, she needs to brush the solution through to straighten them a bit.

Mine always look amazing as well. It's definitely down to the skill of the technician and also the thickness of the shield you choose.

IStillHearTheWaves · 09/10/2026 16:15

Thwy may drop a bit in a few days?

ItsmeMargo · 09/10/2026 16:40

I had my lashes done once, she did a good job. However, I discovered that I had a real problem trying to put my eyeshadow on - lashes were in the way 😄 Never had them done again since.

benandholli · 09/10/2026 16:41

It’s just the skill of who did it. I had lash extensions before and really should get them again, I asked for a classic set and they were amazing !

Seziah · 09/10/2026 16:46

Unfortunately I don’t think there will be much the salon can do as your lashes will be fried if they put more chemicals on them. As a PP said, get them wet and I would also rub them with oil or eye cream. If they are still curled they will drop fairly quickly and look less crazy. If the curl survives the washing and oil today, I would try an eyelash curler upside down to curl them back the other way a bit

Royaly82 · 09/10/2026 16:53

I absolutely hated mine! The curl was way too tight and made them look short and stubby rather than longer.
Looked awful and ridiculous. Would never risk it again.
I Couldn't live without my classic extentions now though

Notaninfluencertype · Yesterday 11:43

I loved mine when I had it done and was upset it only lasted a week on my lashes, so they might not last the full time

blondeseaside · Yesterday 17:15

Oh, I had this too! The first time it went well, but the second time, one eye was completely over curled. Never had it done since!
