Outfit for Athens wedding.

I've never been on style and beauty for outfit suggestions (but have offered a few) but need some help with an outfit. I am attending a wedding in Athens at the start of November and I have bought an outfit but now worried I'll be really hot as it's still 25 degrees.

This is what I have ordered

I don't really wear dresses but open to suggestions - although I have looked at loads and can't see anything that's v me. The wedding bit will be quite formal but we're going to my friend's family taverna for the party bit and that will be less so.

I am not really into frilly things or florals, really love trouser suits, but would be open to the right dress or co-ord and budget up to £350. I normally keep things quite simple and classic.

We went to Athens this March and it was dry & sunny but bloomin freezing - much colder than the uk! So i personally wouldn’t be worrying it will still be hot/ 25

I like it - what are you planning to wear under it? As if it's just a lightweight silk or cotton shirt or top, you won't be wearing the jacket by the time you get to the taverna so should be fine, temperature-wise? It's only viscose anyway, which isn't that warm?

Why are you having second thoughts about the colour though? It's quite a statement colour, so I think you need to be sure you carry it off. I think if you have warm colouring with dark or rich brunette or auburn hair (so at the stronger/more intense end of an autumnal colour palette), then great. If you're blonde/soft-toned/cool in colouring, then I don't think it's the best shade for you.

If you're open to the right dress, OP, what about the Stella McCartney one you posted on another thread? Since you like simple classic shapes? This one is actually somewhat Grecian in fact!

Possibly a bit too romantic for your taste, but this silk coord set from NRBY would look great with heels & dramatic earrings, IMO.

Just a word of warning...wedding in Greece are impossibly glam..lots of bling, maxi evening dresses even for the daytime bit. I worry that your original trousers suit is going to stand out in it's plainness. Some of the other trousers suits posted above would work

I’ve been to a wedding in Athens and all the women wore dressy dresses. No trousers, no jackets. It was pretty glam.

Thank you for these suggestions- I have been assured by the bride it’s not a super glam affair (as in no expectation to wear a gown or similar) and her sister is wearing something from Farm Rio (for reference) and her best friend who is heavily involved is wearing a dress from And Other Stories (again just so you get the vibe of what others are wearing).Bride isn’t actually wearing a big old gown either.

I love the red Stella McCartney dress but actually don’t think it’s quite right for this one.

so back to my original choice, I’m concerned it’s going to much more orange IRL, and I do wear a lot of colour but will need to see what it’s like on. Would like some other options though, I really like the full length Joseph one here.

i should add that I’m blonde, a bit tanned at the moment (but that would probably have faded by wedding) and really like navy and tend to wear quite muted tones which is why I am having a panic about the Sezane suit.

I like your original choice. It's stylish but looks comfortable. You can tone it down a little with black shoes & bag. With the orange and your blonde hair it will have a bright autumnal feel.

It's viscose which has no warmth, but you can vary your top depending on the weather, a linen or silk vest, or a little cashmere T if it's colder.

Athenian here. Is it a daytime wedding OP? Greek weddings (particularly summer ones) are evening and way-into-the-small-hours affairs, hence why they are often so glamorous, alongside fancier locations too.

Given it's november and you have been reassured by the bride then your choice would be fine. The colour is lovely and very autuminal, but I would be inclined to wear something 'sexier' underneath, maybe a lace camisole.. with heels and clutch bag etc.

November temps are usually mild, so the jacket would definitely be enough.

The temperature is likely to dip dramatically by November. I’d be surprised if it reaches 20c mid afternoon.
