I'm old. I don't like any of them, they look like coats my gran would have worn in the 70s, sorry.
Agree, the last one is least bad. But only if you're tall and skinny.

Is "gran-core" a thing? 🤔

That era is coming back round for young people, yes

I think, if you have any memory of it at all, you look at it and say “ I don’t want to wear that” of course the 20 something doesn’t remember and it seems to be a thing now

The last one, bottom right, looks best out of the three but it's shown unzipped. I guess that's because it will look boxy done up.

cartagenagina · Yesterday 10:34

Sorry, I would keep looking. If you put a gun to my head I would choose number 3

MyCoffeeTable · Yesterday 10:44

Third one, but honestly I could see my grandma warring any of them…

RaraRachael · Yesterday 10:49

None of them are great but number 3 is the least awful.

Autumnallightss · Yesterday 12:54

The green one looks totally different when on. It looks cool on here but its just an ordinary jacket..

They are all old lady coats, I wouldn't be seen in any of them. Sorry.

What age would "old lady" be?

There is no such thing as an old lady coat. That’s just ageist bollocks.

CortieTat · Yesterday 13:29

Don’t worry OP, the green one with the funnel collar is very much on trend this season but the rest of them are not bad - they can be stylish and make the outfit with the right items.

I’m not a fan of anything quilted but I would wear the beige one open, with baggy trousers, fitted at the waist and pooling at the bottom and with a tight fitting top, playing with changing shapes and volumes. Would add a big scarf and a slouchy bag because I love scarves and I’m addicted to bags. I am sure there are other ways of styling these jackets it’s just the first thing that came to my mind when you said you bought the beige one.

But dungarees are for toddlers?

Loverurarliving01 · Yesterday 13:39

I don’t think they’re old lady coats. If anything, I’d struggle to see them on a grown woman. They seem more suited to college or uni students.

I don’t really see why a 34 year old would want to wear any of these. I love the patterns, but they look hideous in this material and style.

EasternStandard · Yesterday 13:41

I think you can do better than these. But least bad is three.

Pinkclarko · Yesterday 14:07

Echo the above. Maybe with the right styling they might work on someone, but who wants to think that hard about it? 3 is the best.

GetThatFaceOff · Yesterday 14:08

None of them. What's an old lady coat?? I'm old (67, so positively ancient, eh), but I wouldn't wear any of those jackets.

SwedishEdith · Yesterday 14:18

Which Barbour jackets are people saying are nice? Just searched for Alexa Chung ones. They look like the kind of thing I'd fall into buying "as an investment" but realise I never reached for it to wear.

The first two jackets in the OP are hideous. The third depends on who is wearing it - can't tell properly from that one photo.

ILoveKits · Yesterday 14:23

I'm with everyone else. The third is better than the other two. I've seen lots similar to the first two. I'm 66 and don't remember seeing similar before. I don't like the style at all.

IzzyLeng · Yesterday 14:27

All awful. If you’re after a check jacket Damson Madder probably do something nicer.

StylishAndBeautiful · Yesterday 14:29

@SwedishEdith , I like the traditional Barbours. I grew up in the countryside and am used to them.
I think you either see them as loyal servants or a statement.

I definitely look 'old lady' in a Beadnell but that is the classic woman's Barbour.
Buy Classic Beadnell® Waxed Jacket for GBP 269.00 | BARBOUR_GB
Mine's a Beaufort.

If you don't want a waxed jacket they do more city friendly quilted jackets e.g. Buy Beadnell Polarquilt Jacket for GBP 169.00 | BARBOUR_GB

I'd avoid the fashion ones. Buy Delilah Tartan Showerproof Jacket for GBP 199.00 | BARBOUR_GB is not for me,

Nayone · Yesterday 14:30

Do you really want a pattern? I wouldn't wear any of them but 3rd is lesser all evils

Outerwear: Trench Coats, Bomber Jackets, Puffers & More – Damson Madder
Nothing is saying 'Buy me' but they're not too bad.

getsomehelp · Yesterday 14:36

I really hate no 3, sloping shoulders tent

Who’s talking about dungarees? I have no opinion on them.

You might not but it's a standard response on here, that or 'ceebeebies presenter'.

So respond on those threads? It’s got nothing to do with this one, unless the OP is planning to wear the nasty jacket with said dungarees. I don’t think they’d make it look worse though, or like an old lady or, indeed, like a toddler.
