Trainers - leopard print or chocolate suede?

Help me MNetters. I am early 40s and finding my own style again after years of running after small children. Fashion has changed in the last 10 or 15 years (where has the time gone) and I’m feeling a bit lost. What do you think of these trainers to go with wide leg trousers? I liked the idea of the leopard print but wasnt convinced when I tried them on. Are they good or just naff? I don’t usually wear leopard print but love it on others. Should I play it safe with the chocolate suede trainers or no?

I do frequent long haul travel for work so they seemed like quite comfy options.

Option 1 - Leopard Print https://www.johnlewis.com/carvela-veneto-leopard-print-trainers-multi/p115479724?size=5

Option 2 - Chocolate suede

Can anyone with the Adidas breaknet sleeks let me know how they are in the wet please? 🙏
Just about to hit order on a pair but I have spezials and find them a bit skiddy sometimes.

I’m a bit late to this @TwentyTwoLizards having read your updates, but in case you do ever want trainers, as others have said, the Adidas Breaknet and Spezials are great. Also, if you want something a little different, there are usually some interesting collaborations. Office do their own colour Spezial, Liberty do a special print trim version of one of the Adidas ones as well. Finally, while I note lots of people think animal prints are a bit naff, I say if you like it, get it. Again, you can get Adidas ones with the print on the stripes only, so a bit more subtle if you prefer just a hint. Just for info, I’m older.

i like them both , but find carvela very small and narrow fitting.

I would avoid anything animal print. I know magazines and articles promote it but it rarely looks good. Suede is lovely.

Hmmm. Well I wore leopard print jeans yesterday and thought they looked pretty good, actually. On what research are you basing your extremely sweeping statement, I wonder?

@Ohnobackagain can I ask how you find the sizing of Spezials? I’m normally a 5 but not sure whether to size up as they look quite narrow. Thanks x

If it helps I go up a half size in all Adidas.

I know brown is on trend but I've seen so many people looking ghastly in it. I just don't get the love, I think it is very post Anna Wintour, apparently she loathes brown.

Hi, I take a 7 which is my ‘normal’ size. I wasn’t sure what they would be like and really had no clue given others’ reviews. But they are spot on. That said, I don’t have wide feet. I ended up trying some on in Office then ordering from Office on-line to get the colour I wanted. Sorry it that’s not helpful 😩

@Ohnobackagain thanks so much for the reply, very helpful x
