Stradivarius

So I rarely shop eg at high street stores and was only as I was in London the other week for the day, passed Stradavarius as I was sweating like a pig in my shirt (cotton) and grabbed a burgundy t shirt there. So I returned the other size (I got 2) and came away pleasantly surprised with this and a top. The quality is great, super soft and it goes with a bright Oliver Bonas skirt I got this summer:-

So anyway, give them a go!

Ooh yes I quite love the cardi

Love the colour

GarlicSomething · 25/09/2026 22:11

I love that colour! But I've stopped buying acrylic because, despite having the thermal qualities of a lizard, I am never cold enough to need that amount of heat retention. I kept a couple of my plastic jumpers to put on if I'm freezing, then take off again half an hour later.

The only pair of Stradivarius jeans I tried were three sizes too small on the waist and a foot too long in the leg 😂 You lot must be skinny, leggy, stylish hourglasses.

You lose points for saying 'sweating like a pig' because pigs don't have sweat glands! 😁🐷

Apart from that, I'm here with the violin-expecters... 🤦‍♀️

Ireolu · 26/09/2026 05:47

I bought a pair trousers from there once. Didn't like them. The cardigan linked is acrylic and polyester wouldn't work for me.

The few times I've been in one I've been shocked at how low the quality is. Even years ago when most shops were a bit better. Also had one or two things from them via asos and never been wowed.

Well that’s the thing. That’s probably why I’ve walked past them in eg Westfield before. But this tshirt is a good quality medium weight material and the cardigan is very soft. A top I bought, yes it’s a bit flimsy but it’s sewn well. Other tops, not tried them on but for a lower price and for a year or so they’re actually good value. Compare eg to Tu Sainsbury’s (more expensive) or Primark (roughly same price or cheaper) and they easily stand up to the test. As re Inditex, I loved their Uterque brand which was expensive and unique but the bastards discontinued it! I don’t really know much about their other brands, I might’ve bought or tried the odd thing on in Bershka but wasn’t impressed. It also irritates me that eg &other stories started out as affordable but nice. Then they pushed prices up but same quality, so they’ve lost me as a customer. Arket I find bland but they do do good basics. Arket reissued a dress I’d bought for a christening and gave to SIL afterwards, about a year or so later, the exact same dress. Why?! It was only a midaxi black floral with light colours dress. I think I had to belt it with a slim belt though so it fitted well. I
used to work in the west end so knew all the high street brands and best places to go, eg H&M
back streets of Covent Garden had some great finds and if sold out elsewhere they’d have it there. When I worked in Wimbledon h&m
issued a one off fairly expensive (£100?) black leather biker jacket, it was in the press, I nabbed one, a classic, people think it’s worth much more and isn’t H&M.

Why is it a phrase then?! Off to Google this. I had no idea pigs didn’t have sweat glands.

According to google pigs have very few functioning sweat glands so they cool off in water or mud.

We have only recently had a Stradivarius open near me, but I have never been in to have a look. I might do that next time I'm passing.

Did anyone else see the thread title and think that OP was buying a musical instrument?

  • Stradivarius, famous violin makers.
  • Vincent Bach "Stradivarius", top-notch trumpets.

At least 9 if you RTFT (including me) although I believe you're the first who made a link to trumpets 😁

Hope you didn't do that! 🛘🐷

It sounds like you know your way around the shops far more than I do, though, respect due...

I’m late 50s, definitely not their target market 🤣🤣

I'm 57 and while I may not be their target market I sometimes shop there! Some nice stuff 👌

Yes! I was thinking, wow this family is ambitious. 😂

HenriettaHippopotamus · 26/09/2026 13:25

I remember loving them when I first came across one in Spain as a teenager. I’ve not been to one in ages.

BobbleBear · 26/09/2026 13:36

Why are all the jumpers ridiculously oversized? I hate those shoulder seams that sit halfway down your arms. They don’t look nice on anyone inc. the ladies modelling them.

Yep, me too! I thought there can't be many of those for sale. Don't you have to wait for the owner to go bankrupt or die?

Honestly for fast fashion (and I really rate the t shirt) you can’t go wrong. Next on my list is their jeans.

Stradivarius is in the same company as Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti Berska, oysho ( Indetix) and others. This company supports the genocide, so I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

Me! Much disappointment for me. :(

oviraptor21 · 26/09/2026 16:09

I refuse to shop there having excitedly thought that a new store opening near me was a music store. Huge disappointment. How dare they appropriate the name for yet another clothing store.

BeGoldLemur · 26/09/2026 16:41

I got a really great black t-shirt in one of their stores in Poland on holiday, it’s got shoulder pads and I love it. It was really cheap too, and the sizing seems really fair.

At 61 neither am I but I often get things from there.
I usually buy when im in Spain but there is one at the Trafford Centre.( well there was last time I wad there anyway)

Yes.

You are not alone. 🎻

Vaguelyclassical · 26/09/2026 19:23

It is even more annoying that the Stradivarius name has been kidnapped for a store that seems to offer a fair bit of shoddy workmanship . . . . .
