Dyed hair

Hi
Just pondering really.
Why do so many British women dye their hair blonde?
As opposed to other nations such as Italians or French women?
I see so many women with dark roots and yellowing hair. It’s so obviously dyed. Yet when I travel to say France, the women there are more likely to stick to a natural look. Dying their hair brown rather than blonde if they do dye it
I don’t think you can say it’s because British women have blonde hair because it so obviously isn’t blonde!
Do people think they look better, with black roots? Just because you might have been blonde as a child doesn’t mean you are now.
To be fair I have dyed my hair blonde in the past. Looking back I don’t think it really suited me, made me look washed out and pale.
It was definitely of a time where blonde hair, blue eyed, white, thin women were considered the beauty standard.

Not in our house.

Yes my parents used to repeat the same old so called funny lines everytime something happened. They thought they were hilarious. We, friends and neighbours cringed because they had heard it many times before.
Repeating jokes is not on.

I am my natural brunette now but I was blonde as a child and I just liked being blonde, I felt it suited me more. I have used gentle lighteners (sun-in does that still exist? Shampoos etc.) Semi permanent at home dyes abd at one point did go to the hairdressers every 8 weeks to get my roots done but I can't afford that anymore so it has grown out. I would still prefer to be blonde but I don't want to damage my hair anymore.

Because I love being blonde 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't mind the contrast of when my dark blonde/dirty blonde/mousy blond/brown, (idk) roots come through, then it matches my eyebrows!

I felt utterly plain and boring when I let it grow out, I don't suit my natural colour/I'm not used to it and didn't feel like 'me', with it. Hated being brunette, really washed me out.

Blonde hair makes my blue/green eyes stand out. It makes me feel confident and pretty. I love the way the light shines from it, like a halo.

I love being blonde!
