Jeans- talk to be about what's 'in'.

I have some straight jeans, some girlfriend and some wide leg cords.
Is anyone wearing these or is it all barrel leg and wide legs?
I'm not a slavish follower of fashion and old enough to know styles change. I don't really like being dictated to by fashion but I don't want to look very dated.
I'm a short size 10 and have to be careful not to be swamped.

I’m 5ft4 and a pear - barrels work because they move the volume down past my thighs.

Just ordered the M&S barrel jeans off the back of this thread 🐑
I saw a lady this morning at my tube stop wearing a washed black pair with a similar jacket. She must have been a few year older than me, early 50s, and she looked amazing in her outfit. I couldn’t stop looking at her.

Came back to update this thread as I tried on the jeans and they look bloody awful on me.
I am tall and slim with long lean legs and I am lucky enough to suit most things but these will be going back! I really suit flared jeans and skinny jeans and think I just need to go back to them (maybe not skinnies). I always experiment with other cuts like mom, boyfriend etc and bow barrel and they never look good.

It’s funny how things look different on similar shapes. I’m also tall (ish 5’9), long of leg and slim. Barrel legs really suit me.

I’m sad - really wanted these to look good!

like your user name btw @ItsAlwaysTwins I do actually have twins so I get cross at made up threads with twins!

Barrel look awful on me, I'm very tall and even then, just no!
I pretty much only wear jeans and have most styles, wide legs have been my mainstay over summer, although flares have always been my favourite. It may offend S+B, but the skinnies will be coming out for winter, with long boots or docs, the weather is too wet to wear leg blotting paper wide legs.
I'd also like to see more midrise in shops, despite being tall I find high rise too high and not the most comfortable, especially sitting. I don't thing they're very flattering either.

Why do the fantacists always latch onto twins? I was really taken in on a FB group by someone struggling with twins, who turned out to have a whole imaginary life. Sorry, slight derail.

I haven’t the first clue what is ‘in’, nor do I care. I just wear one of th3 ol£ pears I have had for years. They’re just jeans. Who cares?

Maybe Style and Beauty isn’t for you then 😄

Tbh, with jeans I think it depends if you are a wear jeans out and about or a wear at home or for clearing out the garage person, which is how my mum sees jeans and has had the same pair for years, I think they are BHS!
I don't particularly buy the idea that only certain jeans styles are fashionable these days.
