Skirts see to be having a moment this winter! How are you styling them?

I am likely late to this but has anyone else noticed how many skirts are available now? I am seeing tons more than at any time in the past 20 years, and since I like them, it feels quite exciting!
I presume they're having a moment?

Anyone else planning on wearing them this winter? If so I would love to hear your styling ideas and what boots/shoes/coats you wear with them.

Oh roll on winter. I need some skirt, tights, boots combinations

Skirts are my favourite. I’ve made lots of these in various fabrics. Nice in summer but also with DMs and a leather jacket when it’s cooler. tillyandthebuttons.com/collections/patterns/products/luella-skirt-sewing-pattern

I’ve bought a black faux leather full midi and am thinking of wearing it now with beige long Zara cowboy boots and dark denim puff sleeved shirt (not tried this combo yet) and l saw some long black suede boots in NeXT that I may buy to wear with it with roll necks in the winter

I've only got 3 but I do love them. They're all midaxi and such a comfortable option. I struggle with skirts though as for some reason they make me feel like I'll look like I've made too much of an effort, even though I wear dresses all the time and when I wear "jeans" they are not boring, they're more of an elevated denim trouser, and yet skirts feel somehow fancier.

Any thoughts on tights / socks and shoes? Is it ankle socks all the way or sheer tights are ok - to style with loafer type shoes

Ankle socks feels weird and unprofessional, but nude legs is getting chilly!

At the moment long skirt, bare legs, chunky socks and shoes. The Toast aesthetic(ish) which is not for everyone I know. Tights later as it cools, sheer or opaque, or leggings depending on my mood and skirt length.

I’ve two asymmetric midaxi styles in active use right now (a checked one from Zara last year, and a new burgundy silk one from M&S), and I’ve recently hauled out a very plain, straight cut, on-the-knee black wool skirt from Hobbs that I’ve had for over 20 years. (Or maybe even 30. Still in good nick though.)

I’m an interested in the waisted knits that are popping up right now, especially now that “tucking” seems to be the new “side parting.” And I’m wearing calf-height boots with a low heel rather than completely flat.

I do have a problem with skirts as my waist is an 8 and my hips a 10 and its really annoying if the skirt doesn't hang properly or stay put at the waist so I tend to look for elasticated waists.

Get the 10 and get the waist altered is an option.

I do have a lady who alters my clothes but I only take expensive clothes there. Anything cheaper isnt worth it. She's doing a monsoon dress for me.
