I had a pink Miss Sixty sheer top in 1999. I'd wear it with a pink bra. In the day time. 😳 I'd tone it down with combat trousers and a triangle headscarf (anyone remember those?)

No, it’s a throwback to the 2000s. Layering a sheer dress/ slip dress over jeans/ trousers and a top was very popular for a while.

If you need to cover up you could use this Allo Allo inspired pleather trench coat from Zara.

Edited to add, I'm retired though, so obviously wouldn't be wearing it for work, but I was thinking it'd be lovely for my trips to the garden centre, Home Bargains, the vet, the library etc.

The dress / slip (not necessarily sheer) over jeans thing was early 2000s.

Entirely sheer tops (not dresses) over a bra (usually a Wonderbra) was 1990s.

When I was at university in the 1990s my go-to look for going out was a completely sheer black chiffon, lace or crochet top over a black satin Wonderbra. One of my friends routinely wore a sheer lace tunic dress over a black bra and black hotpants. We always wore them with Doc Martens or biker boots to grunge it up a bit. Happy times!

Hardly the worst garment out there and pretty obvious how it should be worn.

Defo the worst I’ve seen this season. Reminds me of a black top I had in the 80’s when I wore it ‘Madonna like’ over a black bra.

The pert tits back then were fine, any attempt now and I’d be sectioned.

I must have been ahead of the trend as I was definitely doing it in sixth form in '97-'99. I remember wearing a rather colourful, very see-through Kookai top and hearing a couple of yr 13s sniggering in the common room, and I was paranoid it was about my top so never wore it again 😢 I was also still doing it in the 00s, though usually less sheer. And definitely less bright!
