I had issues with both the perfume and the Gucci gloss…: have received replacements today though

This is my first BAC-purchasing year after a concerted effort to use up all the various products I had at the end of last year. I was rather too successful in my efforts and used up most categories (not including make up and fragrance).

I suppose it depends on your view of the lifetime of products, what is an unseemly amount of things to own, and whatever other variables matter to you. I am quite looking forward to having a well-curated stash of gorgeous treats. I’m easy to please and really enjoy lovely packaging, nice scents, a luxe experience, even if ultimately at the end of it all I still look like a woman in her 40s with kids and a full time wfh job.

I have spent less than a third of what I would have paid for car parking when I worked in the office pre-2020. I could see that as a green light to go buy more, but… I’m… not? <she says, already opening the beauty detective page consolidating all BACs>

We do end up with too much, no way around that. I declutter, sell and pass on quite regularly. I do manage to get through quite a lot too and my teen takes a fair bit of hair and body stuff off my hands. I'd like to be more minimalist but I'm very bad at it and love trying new stuff.

Exactly! It soon adds up. The BT one is expensive and we're unsure what price the selfridges fac will be, so I need to try not to buy any others. I was so tempted to get the Armani one this morning too, but managed to avoid that one. Phew!

I feel I have enough skincare now, with my drawers, backup box and backup box of the backup box all full, I have to then think that it's no longer a bargain if you don't end up using it.

I was thinking that I'd get the Harrods home AC but I think it'll be mostly candles and I've just bought a load of autumn ones from Asda and then the Xmas ones in the spacenk sale. Then my mum said that my dog's coughing issue might be getting irritated more by burning candles so now I'm like 😳 I don't want to spend all that money on a candle AC that then gives me vet bills 🤣

Absolutely spray the perfume at home @DidILeaveTheGasOn- for complicated reasons I don't often leave the house and never used to use perfume but now I spray one every day and it gives me a huge boost. I have about 5 full sizes all for different moods and lots of samples to mix it up. Every time I get a waft of scent it brightens up my day.

After all, who is the enjoyment of that expensive perfume for - other people or for you?

Yep, I WFH and love spraying different ones all day. I must smell like a right mix on some days 🤣

I’ve never had an advent calendar and was looking at the Jo Malone but it seems very much about the 9ml miniatures. As I don’t do beauty products and leaning into perfume and smells, I’ve plumped for the more affordable White Company

@Reb642 As well as selling/swapping/gifting items, I know people on here have previously given things to food banks, women’s refuges, charity shops etc. DM has sold some of my surplus BAC items at January fundraisers for a charity she’s involved with. Not suggesting, of course, that there’s anything wrong with simply adding stuff to one’s stash (while bearing in mind use-by dates).

Took delivery of Glossybox this afternoon. No idea where to put it. Still awaiting Anthropologie. In true ADHD form, I am not even interested in opening it. May have to bow out now.

the Elle is a beauty and a heafty number ! She is so much better in real life a lovely box really well packaged and no issues with items . I am so pleased with it I know I will use 95% of the items . I’m just going to put away not revisit and enjoy in December . Be nice if you joined in with opening 🤣

Oh I did. I explained to them its the stuff I dont need from advents. If I were professional I would list the whole content of the things.

Its also a shitty thing to have 300 5 star reviews and then you have to go Pro and lose everything and pay for the registration etc whilst they restrict your visibility. Cannot be bothered with it so I hope they will lift it. Ill make sure ill upload some 2nd hand stuff like books as well to throw of the algorithm

They are banning Pro Accounts left, right and centre for commercial selling. You can't win with Vinted unless you manage to stay under the radar of their bots. I seem to have done so far but assume it's only a matter of time.

Well, i was selling the stuff I didnt want on Vinted but ive been put on a ban for 5 days now since they believe I am a professional seller 🙄

I only buy the calenders if I at least want 1/3rd of it.

And some stuff makes up for nice presents.

Elle is very tempting. It’s a lovely calendar but I really can’t add a fifth AC to my haul much as I would like to.

I’ve just made up about 50 organza bags of make-up and skincare for the small local charity I support. The woman who runs it had a large donation of products earlier this year and asked me to do something with it all as she hasn’t a clue about any of them. I put five or six products in each bag and they go like hotcakes at £10 a bag. She’s just bought me another big haul and the bags from this are ready to be collected. I put them in categories such as body, face, hands & feet etc. Doing this is really helpful for me as it gives me the opportunity to sort my own vast stash and add in all the items I won’t use. Here are some ready to go.

I've just bought Elle. I don't know why, I clearly didn't need it, but it just looks like a really good selection with only a couple of things I won't use. And you lot are all enablers with your positive reviews.

But between that, Harrods BAC and CB, I now have enough products to last me until next Christmas and beyond, so now I really am done. I think...

Although a note to Fenwick - I would have bought yours if you hadn't withdrawn it, and now it's too late. I suspect they'll struggle if they do bring it back as most people will have made their choices by now. Here's hoping it gets reduced in December...

My Harrods FAC came today. Box is lovely, contents are all ok and now I’ve forgotten what they all were. Meno brain is good like that.

You might want to check the Gucci Gloss as well as @26inprogress had an issue with that as well.

I think they'll still sell out, it's a great calendar. If not, there'll be us ready to get the savings 🤑 It is taking them a long time to sort though, I bet it's so frustrating for them.
