This is really helpful thank you - it hadn’t occurred to me to unscrew the lid on the broth! Thankfully I don’t have to complain about that one as I don’t think CS believe me about the short-date-Sisley - they asked this morning how I had checked it’s manufacture date (when I’d already provided the manufacturer code).

Wonder if they’re trying to get some of these codes changed to say we have nothing to worry about?

FWIW I checked on CheckFresh.

OAM doesn‘t the broth in drawer 24 do the same job as Sisley in 25? If they’re very similar then I need an even longer shelf-life for my Sisley if I start using the broth the day before!

Can anyone who's bought the Elle calendar check the Votary cream for me please? Does it come with a seal? I wanted to buy one and checked re the one that's come up on Vinted but seller says it didn't come with a seal which is surprising. She's given me the batch code which is nice but I have really sensitive skin (that balm is brilliant for that!) and don't want to risk it if it should be sealed. Thanks xx

I’ve also been in contact with someone who advised no seal. She said it came from a Caroline Hirons box. Batch code looks fine but lack of seal worries me.

I'm going to pass on it I think. Another tube has appeared on Vinted and the seller shows the seal so...

@CinderellaParker and @26inprogress - I have the Votary balm from the Caroline Hirons Kit and I’ve just checked and it doesn’t have a seal. It was a very new product when it went into the kit as far as I remember so maybe it was earlier versions that didn’t have a seal. I don’t blame you being careful though.

Thank you all for your kind messages. ♥️ It has been a really tough few days but this thread is a lovely bit of escapism. Maybe I need to treat myself to another advent calendar. Not sure DH agrees with me!

My advent fund has been dented by a parking ticket and I am cross. I parked in a Spar car park for a haircut and apparently overstayed my welcome by thirteen minutes. £60! Well, £60 if I remember to pay it within the next 5 days or else it is £100.

When I am queen of the world I will pass a law that says all ACs will have to show all the contents when they first drop. I’m sick to death of all these silly bit by bit reveals. I don’t understand what the companies hope to achieve by them. They just piss me off and I can’t be the only one. And as for offering them for sale when we have absolutely no idea of the contents, why would anyone hand over any money for them on this basis? 🤷‍♀️

I’m really shocked at the Liberty and CB issues. These are hardly cheap items, and they’re marketed as luxury. Really takes the shine off a bit, and puts me off buying anything else from either tbh. I do hope reps from the companies are paying attention to these threads. We don’t like to be treated like idiots.

I was delighted to get an amazing Vinted bundle deal on the Harrods Sisley rose portofino lipstick and the sync liner . Both for £15 !
Excitedly went to collect my parcel today . It was empty 😭😭with a hole in it.
Refund from Vinted already but I lost out on such an amazing deal . The cheapest for the lipstick alone on Vinted is 20 🥲gutted as it was for my Frankenstein

Oh @pinkchampagne1 I’m so sorry. Bear with me here…would you DH like (wrong words sorry!) a Frankenstein Calander. I think it would be so thoughtful and show you love him ans want to to support him. I mean, little things he would like even if they’re not advent calendary IYSWIM. I don’t want to put my foot in it but I’m thinking sort of thing like… if he wears glasses a personalised cloth with a pic of him and his father.that sounds so naff sorry but my family like them. Or chocolate things he likes (like Lindt) or even tini travel size toiletries esp if you go away.little bears oil if a beard.? Last year I got a mini magnet photo pic of advent person and the person they wer grieving which they loved. There must be a thread like this , I’m probably even on it but forgotten! I just think it would show kindness and thoughtfulnesswhuch may be a comfort.

Oh I had something like this last year, £30 for an amazing bundle. Worst thing was that I was on holiday when it was delivered so I didn't notice until it was too late to get a refund. But I never did get that amazing price again. As more people get their advent calendars, more might come up for sale.

@AdventAdoration that's such a kind thought, but I think it depends so much on your love language for lack of a better phrase. My DH doesn't get the advent calendar obsession at all, and I can imagine if he were grieving it might not hit the right notes, especially after a fairly recent bereavement. We are all different though. My love language is quality time. His is acts of service. If pink champagne's spouse is gift giving, it might be very appreciated.
