Looks like the 2025 BAC has disappeared from the Harvey Nichols website.

Weirdly, there’s a 2026 FAC listed on eBay with what looks like a picture of the 2026 BAC.

Me neither. I like Marks and Spencer’s AC because it’s a sensible price (I’ve heard it may be £75 this year, it was £60 last year) and always has lovely stuff inside. Over the years, it has introduced me to some brands/products that have become favourites. I don’t use make-up and thankfully it doesn’t contain much of that (maybe one eyeshadow and a mascara).

@IDontHateRainbows - the Trish McEvoy lipstick in Liberty last year.

Some people got one that went on the lips pale pink and there were no allergy issues. Others got an identical-looking product that went on deep purple and caused some people to- including me - to have allergic reactions of varying degrees of severity. (Thank goodness for Piriton!)

My extensive 😹 research into the matter suggested that TM had - allegedly - changed the formula somewhere along the line - I can’t remember which version was the ‘bad’ one - new or old, but some of it was likely to be much older stock. Liberty, however, swore up and down and sideways that this wasn’t the case, and that there weren’t any issues with the product even though I sent them copies of reviews showing the same issue with allergic reactions.

Anyway, I was lucky because Liberty gave me a resolution that satisfied me. Other people got short shrift 🙀

I put mine on for £70. I had an offer for £45 which I turned down and an offer for £50 which I accepted. They haven’t taken it yet though.

I’ve kept JL box from 2024, it’s a nice pattern and really sturdy. I sold SNK from 2024 (I found it too tall and flimsy)
I’ll also sell last years SNK at some point.
People like them to do their Frankenstein calendars, I get a few quid, and it saves the boxes going in the bin.

I collected my Boots FAC last night but not had chance to open it yet. I’m a bit overwhelmed by the volume of boxes stacked in my living room 🙈

@MathsFiend - I have kept Clarins 12 day 2023 and am reusing it for my DIY FAC. It’s really good quality and very solid.

I have kept 2025’s Liberty and have refilled it for this year - again, it’s very good quality.

I have also kept 2024’s Shiseido and refilled it last year.

I used to use my Rituals village and tree as decorations but finally got rid of them a while ago due to lack of space. I regret throwing away the village, tbh, but kept the lights.

@MathsFiendI’ve just sold my Liberty 24 box on Vinted for £12, some on there for much more but I just wanted rid. It’s a lovely box but I have last years and this and don’t need 3!! Much sturdier than the Harrods one, and I do love the design, I’ll def keep these 2!

I'm disappointed with the quality of the box for HFAC. For the price, I would expect something much sturdier. I have a load of boxes from previous years and most of them, including the cheapies, are sturdier.

I expected better from Harrods given it's supposed to be a luxury brand.

Ooh thanks for this. It was £99 in 2024, and I missed out as it sold out. Last year, it went up to £120 and we all called them greedy. As a result, I dont think many people bought, so good to see they have been sensible in doing it at £99 again. Think I will buy. I have some vouchers, and there will likely be a snall % of cashback too.

So do you think it's good value for the contents? I'm not massively into candles but they might make nice gifts.

I gave dd the 24 day anthropologie one for Xmas day as a present. She loves it.

It's decent value, especially given the voulspa and osmology / aery candles. However, upon a second look, it has always been a home fragrance calendar in the past, therefore included a couple of good quality essential oils. This is always a draw for me as I am a candle maker myself. So I now find myself wavering a bit... This is obviously how they have managed to keep the price down this year as it is just candles (the oils are usually worth about £40 for the two)

Also, the biggest thing to note is that none of the candles will be boxed, so they would be hard to gift. The glass ones in particular. The tins are reasonably priced anyway and are always on half price offer in early November via either JL or Waitrose. (I'm talking £7 for this duo of mini Lily Flame tins which at least come packaged)

Looks like they are all small votives and good point re. no boxes for gifting. Since my previous post I've looked up some of the individual prices and it doesn't seem especially bargainous. I'll restrain myself.

You could still give them as presents in my opinion, especially if youre giving something else as well as you could then put them both in another box for wrapping. Or could go in gift bag. I think the calendar looks pretty good value, am very tempted!

Just catching up on this thread. Been all over the place the last few days as lost FIL in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Need to get back to my therapy of talking about BACs and watching unboxings to lift my spirits a bit. Just need to make sure I don’t go crazy and buy more than I need! 😵‍💫

By my poor reckoning it’s about £175 of candles for £99 - which if you’re going to use (or gift) is fairly good value I think. Depends if you’re a candle person
