That’s a really lovely idea.

I looked at a vinted listing from someone who was selling this year's empty 12 days Harrods AC and it actually put me off buying the real thing. It looked very cheap.

M&S was also very cheap looking inside last year, as was Anthropologie (although I have bought it again this year due to the price point)

I must admit that I still have my 2024 WC AC on my dressing table. It holds various things from cotton buds to candles. It actually seems indestructible.

@RainbowZebraWarrior the Harrods 12 day h&b and fragrance calendars are a bit flimsy, they're not great but the bac is quite sturdy. I did prefer it when it was in the Harrods green though.

Liberty ACs still a work of art. Shame I just don't have space for the beautiful box.

Do people really buy old, empty advent calendar boxes? Just about to throw out JL from 2024 and SNK from last year. I have to say, SNK is so much flimsier than JL!

I bought Fugazzi Pomegranoudh earlier to replace the Reome broth in my Liberty BAC. I was going to stop there but now I'm thinking I could add a few things I want from other calendars to spice up some of the more boring drawers. I can see how people end up with Frankensteins!

I’ve still got the JL 2024 box too. It seemed sturdy so I’m saving it in case I ever do a DIY calendar.

The previous year’s weird floppy pink M&S bag came in handy for putting the various bits of my mum’s Christmas present in last year.

I've already had chatgpt create me a list of things I may want to buy from other calenders, it is based on me highlighting some things i like on a spreadsheet, which shows products from a few calenders and telling it things I like or would like to try. I haven't actually had much chance to look on vinted yet but may try over the next few days!

Yes, I'm shocked that something that costs £250 should arrive battered and bashed up.

I was expecting my cult beauty ac to be a bit ripped as the box was a bit bashed when it arrived, it's actually perfect though, apart from the missing medik8 of course 🙈

Could you get a candle calendar or Degusta or a Twinings tea one or Lindt this year? Or Harrods are apparently doing a home fragrance one this year, (but goodness knows how much it will be of whether anything will smell nice!)

I loved my Twinings tea a/c last year and DSM really liked her Lindt one. DH found the novelty of the Chuckling Cheese calendar entertaining too!

I also really liked the White Stuff sock calendar, (which I spread out over two years and gave some away!) I particularly liked the fact that I got it almost free due to a glitch, but even full price, the WS calendars are very nice!

I don't know whether to complain or not. At this point i might get to know Liberty Customer Service by name!

@Annamarieboo - please complain. I believe in holding companies to account - how can they improve, if we don’t help them to be better?

I'm quite impressed they haven't quibbled over sending you a new cream. Very un CB like.

I opened the one I already had to start using it and it's a really nice cream. I probably shouldn't have done that because I've got about 4 creams on the go now.

That's really inconsistent. You'd think it would be one batch.

Just told DH about all the problems with Liberty - he still remembers ‘lipstickgate’ last year so is sympathetic.

He just told me ‘Liberty are taking liberties’…

…and is now feeling quite pleased with himself 🙈

That's so frustrating. It shouldn't be this hard to buy an advent calendar! It's probably worth taking note of any that don't seem to have had problems for next year. So far Liberty, Cult Beauty and Harrods seem to be in a three way tie for the most issues.

I’m doing this with last years still unopened HNFAC. Im starting this weekend with a double opening so that I opened them all just in Time for advent to start.

I would deffo complain if you have a Sisley that expires in Jan. I bought mine on vinted so I'm going to start using it, although my main reason for buying it was to add another layer in Jan and Feb when my skin gets painfully dry. I think if you let them get away with it, they'll just do it again next year with another product.

I think Cult Beauty win. Orders not dispatched, batches boxes, missing items, misprinted numbers, old dusty products 🤣🤣 they tick all the boxes!

I remember the candle recall I think that was 2024?

Do I need to provide photos for Liberty CS? Husband has put the item back in the drawer but I can get him to get it back out again!

And the leaky Broth, I need him to check that one too…

How do you see the expiry dates? I still have products from last year and possibly a few from the year before too...
