@FredaFox - quite a few people had a leaky product in Liberty’s Day 24, which Liberty replaced, (the replacements gave rise to other concerns, but that’s a different story!)

I think it was @JoRaRaRa who then found a different product in Liberty tonight that expires in Jan 27, (which is not acceptable imo). Apologies if I have this wrong!

I suggest that you check the contents of yours, (or get someone to do it for you if you don’t want to spoil the surprise).

The ‘good’ news is that Liberty’s CS is usually - not always - pretty good.

@ApiratesaysYarrr - in previous years there have been a few issues with certain products being recalled or the odd thing being missing/damaged in various a/cs. However, it seems worse this year and companies seem less interested in making amends.

Of course, most people’s goods arrive intact but it’s disappointing when things go wrong and companies don’t seem to care.

I am reconsidering a Korean a/c, if only because the contents would have expiry dates!

However:

I don’t want the PureSeoul a/c as I have zero interest in the Medicube Pro.

Stylevana doesn’t interest me and would be likely to incur extra customs charges.

Yesstyle: No idea what’s in this year’s a/c and I probably have more chance of winning the lottery than getting my mitts on one.

Yepoda: Not exactly Korean as it’s made for the overseas market. Plus it’s all one brand and I don’t like this year’s colour scheme, (although the case is cute!)

StyleKorean: Zero information on this a/c - likely to be released too late to arrive in the UK for 1/12. Vaguely interested, but am I going to wait until mid-November before buying a a/c without even knowing the contents?

Korean Skincare: Signed up to the waiting list but have no information about it.

Of the UK offerings, I still quite like GlossyBox and Harrods, but the latter is very expensive!

Harrods, Elle and JL are still my faves but I’ve yet to decide.

Re dates. I noticed this earlier in the year with a beauty box and one of the products had about six months left on it. It did put me off. I didn’t think they’d do that with the ACs but am now worried about that.

btw, what does DoD stand for please?

Oh, and I just bought some more Christophe Robin from eBay after all the chat about it. It was 3 years out of date! The seller didn’t offer even a partial refund because I’d used the conditioner so couldn’t return it. Furious about that! So definitely worth considering when buying from eBay or vinted.

I received my JL BAC at the weekend and it's beautiful.

DoD is Drawer of Doom. So called because of a particular dud or nemesis product.

I managed to resist Space NK. Every time I am tempted I looked at the content and it just isn't for me.

Waiting on Perfume shop and Space NK fragrance advent and to see if Flannels do something.

Else I will be hoping for LIberty scent kit and keeping myself happy with same sample sets. I have wishlist for black Friday & Cyber Monday for Space NK and will be shopping

Also, HN delivery charges are outrageous so I'm sharing this as info, not a recommendation!

I would love to know numbers of calendars produced, pre-orders and total sales for each retailer. It must be so easy for them to get it wrong e.g. I think Liberty have a real flop on their hands this year.

I went for Space NK yesterday. Still slightly gutted about not going for Sephora, especially when so many people are commenting on how nice the eyeshadow palette is! From the pictures it looks beautiful but I’m trying to remind myself that I have many eyeshadow pallets that don’t get used nearly often enough due to four children sucking up all my time. I long for the days where I could spend an hour perfecting the smoky eye.

I did order a candle and some shampoo/conditioner as a consolation for being so good and not buying two advents (yet…) Has anyone tried the colour wow money laundering stuff?

I see the White Company AC has dropped this morning. I have had it before in 2024 and wouldn't have it again as it's too samey, however, if anyone is considering it, my advice is to wait until they have the 25% off everything weekend in October. The AC is included and they do it every year. Brings it down from £195 to £150

I can't imagine thru would cancel thousands of ready made HN branded BACS and FACs... they will be somewhere waiting to be sold surely?

Disclaimer I have zero professional knowledge of what happens to stock when a company buys another company and asukd the new company would maintain existing orders. If anyone more knowledgeable is on here please feel free to correct me.

Don't feel bad. It sounds like Space NK is a good choice for you. Objectively it's a decent calendar with some expensive products. For me there's very little in there I haven't tried before which makes it less interesting but that's a me thing. My four kids are grown up so I can be indulgent and mess around with eyeshadow all I want. Space NK is a better choice for pricey skincare acquisition and that seems like it fits your life better right now. 💕

I agree if they are actually ready and paid. But what if the new managers cancelled last minute before they were finalised? I am so curious and also welcome info from any retail insiders!

I have a feeling that HN will still release. It's only a feeling though and that's been wrong before 🤣

Any particular reason you don't like Stylevana, apart from potential custom charges? I've never had charges ordering from them but I've bought anything as large as an advent.

I think it's a good line up. The BOH Bioheal is a good range aimed at mature skin and that cream is one of the more expensive kbeauty products on the market. I started using their spf over the summer and loved it.

If they were paid for and already produced they would come as part of the stock inventory I assume. If they hadn't gone into production and invoices were still outstanding I can see the new owners might cancel if dealing with that wasn't a top priority for them.

Just my opinion based on zero professional knowledge of this industry. 😂

I usually go M&S but I’m not too impressed with this year’s offer. I might go MacMillan in Boots (currently on offer at £44), Body Shop or H&B.

I really hope so! I had another look through all BACs that have been released so far and its still only Sephora I want.
In previous years I've loved having 2 BACs so I can open one in the morning and another as an after work treat - so I need a HN 2026 and I need it to be good 🤣

I have a feeling that the FAC would be really good this year. But I think that's because I'm planning on buying the BT for the perfume and part of me feels that HN will release the same perfumes in theirs just after I've bought the BT, because that's the kinda thing that usually happens 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

It wouldn't make much sense to me as this will be a big ticket item for HN/HOF certainly in terms of PR. If they are cancelled I foresee some dodgy deals and ebay flooded with them.

Not too bothered about the BAC but I really liked the FAC last year especially as there were loads of smaller sizes as I prefer those.

I have a HN near me for pick up as I wouldn't trust them to deliver, had some issues last year and even more now I'm not sure I would trust them.

That makes it even worse! If it expires on 10th Jan, that's only 16 days to use it 🤬

Im patiently waiting ( not really I wish they would hurry up with the reveal) for the perfume shop advent . I do love the mini perfumes but hopefully it’ll be some newer ones and not ones I already own.
