What are your thoughts on these shoes?

Myrtle

Myrtle is a women's apron derby, styled like a boat shoe but super chunky on our round toed 648 last. Her upper is made from polished black colorado leather and Myrtle has handsewn apron and feature lace detailing.

@Loghabit , fit is important. I don't really like chelsea boots on men but I can't pinpoint why.

I had a look for my Grenson boots and I'd forgotten how beautiful they were. The laces can be tiresome to tie though but I dislike boots with laces and a zip.

I love the fact that my lace-up Zadig & Voltaire boots have a zip on the inside!! Though I kind of know what you mean - it's superfluous & unnecessary.

When I was a student/in early employment, & Red or Dead had a shop in Glasgow, I bought the most fabulous pair of lace-up knee-high black leather boots in the sale. Properly stompy - but with no zip!!

I loved them so much - but whenever I wore them on nights out (when I'd inevitably get quite drunk) I just couldn't be arsed unlacing them when I got home, as it took so bloody long & I wasn't exactly fully functioning ... Several times I would wake up the next morning still wearing them, with a cracking hangover ... So eventually I got rid of them, which I really regret now!!

I don’t think it’s superfluous and unnecessary. I’d never buy boots without a zip. Life’s far too short to be wrestling with laces and I hate the rush of blood to the head.

Yes to zips on the inside! I have 2 pairs of Celtic & Co Wilderness boots - one calf length with a zip on the inside and hooks on the top instead of eyelets and another knee length pair with eyelets all the way up and no zip. Guess which pair I wear most!

I meant visually speaking. They make the boot look a little bit fussier, & strictly speaking there's no need for them.

But from a purely practical point of view, they're great!

I hate laced boots with zips. I won't buy them purely on that basis

I had another issue with mine that I forgot - this may well reflect my odd way of walking but it hasn’t happened with other shoes - I wore through the inner wall of the sides of my grensons on both feet so there was a section towards the back of the shoe on the inside where the lining had become a ragged holes Odd.

I have boots with a zip. It's both zip and laces on boots or shoes that I don't like, although, as you say, it does make them easier to get on and off.
