Help me decide which gown to wear for each event of my 5-day wedding!

I'm getting married next month, and we're having a 5-day wedding celebration. I've finalized my wedding gown for the ceremony, but I'm completely stuck on how to assign my other gowns to the different events.

The schedule is
Day 1: Guest arrivals and welcome
Day 2: Adults-only party with our friends
Day 3: Pre-wedding dinner, where I'll also be doing a special dance with my 16-year-old son
Day 4: Wedding ceremony (I'll be wearing my wedding gown)
Day 5: Farewell brunch

The three gowns in the attached photo are the ones I'm choosing between.

A bit of context
The left navy gown is brand new and was custom-made specifically for the wedding celebrations.
The middle emerald green gown feels the most glamorous and has a dramatic look.
The right black gown is classic, elegant, and a little more understated.

I'm torn about which one belongs to which event. Part of me feels like I should wear the custom-made navy gown for the pre-wedding dinner since it's a meaningful evening and I'll be sharing a dance with my son. On the other hand, the green gown also feels like it deserves one of the bigger events.

If these were your gowns, how would you assign them to Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3? I'd love to hear your reasoning too, especially if you've attended or planned a multi-day wedding.

For the context I'm 44 and yeah I'm the one in all the three pics

Thanks so much! ❤️

Can I just say you have a lovely collection of dresses overall 😍

I love top right. That feels like it would work great for brunch on the last day as its more day time.

Then I'd swap out red for welcome drinks OR purple for adults party

For brunch??

LochKatrine · 01/08/2026 09:37

I think the brunch outfit ought to be a bit more casual!

Then out of the newer four dresses, as you say purple for last day then the top right/skirt combo is the best one.

left one is navy blue, the middle one is dark green, and the right one is black......

They have been sent for cleaning

Even the one you’ve had ‘custom made’?

Oh my god.. At least TRY and hide your jealously!

Are you the OP with a name change? Why do you assume that everyone who comments on the fact that she claims to be having such an elaborate wedding is doing so out of jealousy? Personally, I think that a wedding is all about 2 people who love each other wanting to share the event with family and friends, not an excuse for excessive spending that many of the guests likely can’t afford. The Op seems to be planning a wedding to show off her wealth rather than to express her love for her intended.
OP, the dresses are very much like evening dresses one sees on Celebration Night on a cruise ship. Most people look nice in these types of dresses. I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself at your wedding.

Chill! We’re not the same, and I can prove that.

Second, you don't have to be so aggressive on a stranger's thread. If you feel like I'm showing off, that's okay it's your opinion, and you have every right to have it. I don't mind if you think I don't have love or feelings, unlike others who keep claiming it's all coming from jealousy. But you do sound a bit too judgmental, and that's not a good look.

Another thing, I've ignored some of negative comments because they add zero value to my decisions about my outfits. Hopefully, you understand what your comment is adding here.

Top right is nice but not really a brunch dress.

I think at your age with your figure and being the bride I’d be inclined to go for something much more modern.

PrintPatch · 01/08/2026 10:11

What’s the dress code for guests? That would probably put me off, but I know it’s the norm for some!

NewHere83 · 01/08/2026 10:17

The green one is really nice. I'd wear it happily for any of the 3. I probably wouldn't choose either of the others for either of the other events to be honest. Do you have any cocktail dresses in the running?

Ipollita · 01/08/2026 10:20

OP, the first three dresses are very dull and incredibly dated. I think you can do much better. The top two dresses of the second lot are the best of the bunch but as the photos have been slightly AI-ed, they look a little off. The white and red are a definite no as again they’re very dated.

I’ve attended a few Spanish weddings (though admittedly not in Mallorca) and the majority of women wore beautiful, interesting dresses and outfits with a real mix of colour and print, and gorgeous accessories. Modern yet classic and not over the top at all. I’m afraid most of your choices just look old fashioned.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 01/08/2026 11:37

Non of them are bride like.I dont think you will stand out.

Holidaymodeon · 01/08/2026 19:23

Is the son dance a Spanish thing or family tradition?
I’ve never heard of it before but sounds awkward, especially at his age and as he had to be talked into it.
If he’d asked for it or it definitely is a tradition it might sound less awkward.
five days , phew! 😮‍💨
