Help me decide which gown to wear for each event of my 5-day wedding!

I'm getting married next month, and we're having a 5-day wedding celebration. I've finalized my wedding gown for the ceremony, but I'm completely stuck on how to assign my other gowns to the different events.

The schedule is
Day 1: Guest arrivals and welcome
Day 2: Adults-only party with our friends
Day 3: Pre-wedding dinner, where I'll also be doing a special dance with my 16-year-old son
Day 4: Wedding ceremony (I'll be wearing my wedding gown)
Day 5: Farewell brunch

The three gowns in the attached photo are the ones I'm choosing between.

A bit of context
The left navy gown is brand new and was custom-made specifically for the wedding celebrations.
The middle emerald green gown feels the most glamorous and has a dramatic look.
The right black gown is classic, elegant, and a little more understated.

I'm torn about which one belongs to which event. Part of me feels like I should wear the custom-made navy gown for the pre-wedding dinner since it's a meaningful evening and I'll be sharing a dance with my son. On the other hand, the green gown also feels like it deserves one of the bigger events.

If these were your gowns, how would you assign them to Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3? I'd love to hear your reasoning too, especially if you've attended or planned a multi-day wedding.

This. Love the black one the best. Don't like one strap dresses.

I do also have my eye comfort shield on my screen. Maybe that is affecting the colours?

My brightness is on maximum. There is plenty of colour in the screenshot, do you not see it? Does the whole screenshot look black and white to you? Let me know if so, there might be something wrong with your screen brightness/contrast settings that I can help you with.

Your screen shows one thing, cant you understand that other peoples screen shows something different?

People might give different advice depending on the country / culture - in the US a very formal pre wedding dinner is common (or it was on Friends anyway!) it’s really unusual in the UK! Likewise some cultures have many days of celebration, whereas in the uk 3 the longest is usually smart casual or informal pre-dinner the night before and informal buffet the day after,. I have never heard of a formal pre dinner in the uk. As long as all the guests know what expect and aren’t having to buy their own drinks it’s fine - un-British isn’t a criticism!

They’re all so similar I don’t think it really matters.

If I had to go to a five day wedding and find five formal outfits I wouldn’t be jealous , I’d be very annoyed about how much it was costing me and using up my holiday days - especially if I had to pay for accommodation. Different if it was the norm in that culture!

Agree with this. None of them seem wedding-ish to me.

I think if you’re going to be extravagant and have a 5 day event that is this level of formal on every day, I’d look to get new. They all look quite dated to me.

Yes, I can understand that people's screens show different things. That is because of each person's individual screen colour/contrast/brightness settings. That was the whole point of my post.

I can see blue, green and black on the dresses in the original photos, and also in the screenshots of those exact same same photos that people are posting, because I am looking at both the photo and the screenshot on the same screen that has brightness/contrast settings that distinguish the colours. The screenshot won't capture your brightness/colour settings (try taking a screenshot with your screen at max brightness, and one at min brightness. They'll be identical).

And...no, I don't think you can advise me on my brightness/contrast settings, though it is very sweet of you to offer.

Well I assume her actual wedding dress looks different. It would be weird to have variations of weddingy dresses all week as it'll detract from her actual wedding dress

Ideally just a quick pop down the registry office so other people aren't obliged to coem, bring a gift, spend any money or show any interest, if you ask some people on MN

Couldn't be further from the truth. I had a very low key wedding with DH because I don't like being the main character- one day was absolutely enough. Especially when you're older 40+ I think it's a bit ridiculous to go overboard- one is old enough to know about the divorce rate and to think about the inconvenience for the guests.

They don"t say, "happy celebrations with friends and family" to me, they are too dark and too formal.

What are you wearing for the other events?

To be honest , It wouldn't be my idea of my perfect wedding, but my idea of my lovely wedding which I loved wouldn't necessarily be everyone else's. @miamorr to be asked for an opinion. I've given mine . And to be fair with having to have 3 formal dresses , good for only buying one new one and rewearing others. I might have bought the new one in a much more different shade than the others but it's not my wedding. So whilst I might agree with eg @Toothpastestain , I don't know the settings or the type of party these three are for.

Agree. I can see a dark green dress and if I look hard and expand the picture 1 navy and 1 black. There's nothing wrong with the resolution on my phone.

For the actual event I might remember the green dress but probably wouldn't clock that the other 2 are different dresses.

I can see the colours , but they all seem so similar I don’t think it matters which you wear when . None of them seem summery or particularly current . I think you would benefit from mixing in something more informal for day 1 . Presume you are not in the UK , I am so probably have missed the point
