do any of these dresses fit the bill? I love the green one at the top of I’m honest

The first one, green one is stunning and fits the bill I think. The other 2 are nice but just nice.

First one seems too formal for cocktail. Second too daytime. Third one seems to fit the bill.

When is the wedding? Most of them look like Christmas wedding guest dresses so if it’s soon I would keep looking.
To me the first one is very formal unless it’s actually a black tie wedding.
The second is quite nice, and looks good with the messy up do in the styling.
The third is a total no imo.

First one is lovely but does not fit a “cocktail” dress code.
Although sometimes I think people use that on an invitation without really knowing what it means anyway. But if everyone else is in cocktail dresses, yours will look a bit out of place maybe.

If it's soon and in the UK, you will roast in any of those. The first one looks more black tie to me, the last is more cocktail but generally cocktail dresses are shorter. For most I've been to you want smart but comfortable day wear, more like the middle one. But then think of the time of year. That would be unsuitable at the moment but ok in autumn/winter. If the code is cocktail it actually gives a lot of scope.

However as someone who’s also 5ft2 I would worry it would be too long reading some of the reviews.

It's a pretty standard little black dress shape. Hard to find at the moment as dresses are either very short, midi or very long, and more classic than mainstream fashion. Though also it's quite 90s/early 00s which is also a thing now, and personally I'm rather royally fed up of baggy saggy midi dresses. If you can wear it for the office as well then great, but for me the slightly metallic effect elevates it to more formal wear. I wouldn't wear it now, but in winter, sure.

First dress looks like a bridesmaid dress. I’d find it odd if someone wore this to a wedding.

Second dress is nice and suitable for a wedding.

Third dress is very dated, especially the “high/low” hem.

"Cocktail/formal" is the stupidest dress code and I suspect often wrongly used.

The first dress is an evening dress. If "cocktail" is being used correctly it's way OTT

I think the definition of cocktail has changed, those are definitely cocktail dresses but seems to have shifted over to evening wear now hence long dress suggestions.

I would call first one evening rather than cocktail. Cocktail tends to be shorter somewhere around knee length.

I think the other way round. Black tie for women used to be much narrower and now it could be long, short whatever unless it's a very formal do (and possibly then white tie for men). Cocktail was always a bit less formal and shorter. Though I agree it doesn't have to be a short dress and all categories are quite loose really these days. I wouldn't be wearing a heavy satin long dress in September for 'cocktail' though.

I really dislike the second dress, awful colour, not flattering and looks like it would be sweaty.

The third one would look great on an hour glass figure and it's available in the OP's size.

Cocktail to me is short or day length but too "Eveningy" to wear in the day but not formal enough to be an evening dress . Of your suggestions I don't like the Jolie Moi at all but the other 3 fit the brief (inasmuch as it's possible to interpret it)
