Say like size 14 but curvy or size 10 but no arse and just like a stick.

Skinny thanks. Love thr girl in picture 1

MrsE1 · 22/07/2026 21:47

Skinny if I had the choice, I was skinny up to my late 20s. I was just over 7 stone & I had a 24 inch waist. Now I’m just about in a normal BMI, I’d love to have that mid 20s figure back, alas at nearly 60 I never will….

PurpleCoo · 22/07/2026 22:29

I agree with those saying size 10 is not skinny. I am a size 10 and I am very curvy, big boobs, small waist, curvy hips and well developed glutes. I am still a work in progress but I lift weights and getting more definition in my arms and shoulders.

I am happy being a size 10 with both curves and some muscles! But I feel 'normal'... Not skinny, not chubby, not fat. A size 10 these days is like a size 12 in old money!

Size 10 is curvy, it’s definitely not ‘a stick’

pinkspeakers · 22/07/2026 22:33

Neither. It's not either/or. Fairly lean with a little muscle and subtle curves please. Not "skinny" or "curvy".

Compared to where I am, I'd like to be both slightlier curvier and slightly skinnier, depending on which bit. But overall, I'll do!

It's not necessarily curvy though! I'm a 10 but distinctly lacking in curves.

PrettyLittleRose · 22/07/2026 22:39

I never said the woman in pic 2 (on my post from 12.06 today) - with the tape measure and blonde hair - was thin or slim... It seems a few posters were in such a mad rush to say that she is FAT, and isn't remotely slim, that they couldn't be arsed to read my post properly.

The OP asked 'would you rather be curvy or skinny?' I posted pics of 3 women, skinny, curvy, and fat. I said 'I would like to look like the woman in pic 2.' (The curvy one,) and said I would much rather be curvy than skinny! The woman in pic 1 is far too skinny (IMO,) and the woman in pic 3 is too fat (IMO.) It was MY OPINION.

I would hate to look like the woman in pic 1 or the one in pic 3, and think the woman in pic 2 has the nicest body. Like I said, that is my OPINION.

As I said, some posters were so busy rushing on here to say how fat the woman in pic 2 is that they didn't read my post properly. 🙄

Pic 2 is far from slim- I’m amazed anyone can think that and it shows how our perception of what is normal has shifted. She looks lovely, but definitely chunky and any bigger would be fat.

I would say she's probably slightly overweight. She looks significantly bigger than me (size 10) and I'm exactly in the middle of healthy weight for my height ie just as close to overweight as underweight according to BMI.

Skinny, but I’m not skinny at size 10. Personally I prefer to be very slim.

SherbetDipDap · 22/07/2026 22:44

I think it’s fucking weird to care more about what your body looks like than what it can do. I like how my figure looks right now (size 14 with curves) but I feel slow and less mobile than I did as a size 8/10. I’m aware that I’m carrying too much weight for my frame and it’s starting to impact my energy levels. I’m never going to be an Olympic athlete but I like being able to go for a good run.

I agree that 1 and 3 are not healthy and 2 is much better, But you said she had the "perfect figure". Admittedly that is just your opinion, but others can disagree. And i suspect she would be officially overweight in terms of BMI, but it is hard to be sure. She's not very overweight.

sunupstars · 22/07/2026 22:44

I suspect the woman in pic 2 is overweight, she is bigger than what I was at my heaviest weight (BMI 25.1) she doesn’t look healthy to me.

Skinny. Having been fat as well, I can confirm people are nicer to thin, healthy people. I think its partly because people who take care of themselves are happier and easier to deal with.

Your statement makes no sense. Some people are naturally slim and don't have to 'take care of themselves ' . Though I agree that people are nicer to slim people. And that slim people are generally happier.

EdinaTheConfessor · 22/07/2026 22:47

Skinny. Im a slim 8/10 and having been every size between this and a size 20 I can tell you slim is a million times better in both how I look and feel.

TRS20 · 23/07/2026 07:33

Curvy

NurseJayneLouise · 23/07/2026 07:36

I am a size 12, quite curvy and slim. I am very happy with my figure but I would not mind being slim so long as I am healthy and fit

dizzydizzydizzy · 23/07/2026 07:43

Sandytoesies · 22/07/2026 10:56

Size 10 isn’t skinny imo, just a normal size. I think we have somewhat lost sight of what normal is. I wouldn’t like to be size 12/14 as to me that would feel very over weight (I am short) in terms of health and fitness, + I think clothes generally look better in slimmer people.

Yes. I’m 5’9” and I was probably underweight when I was a size 10. I am naturally muscular so my BMI was in the normal range but I looked awful and it got to the point where my swimming coach wouldn’t let me train until I put on some weight. (Wonderful woman - she knocked some sense into me. Sadly she died of cancer not long after that).

Helenbelena · 23/07/2026 07:52

Size 10 is not skinny.

Unless you’re really tall…

Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself · 23/07/2026 07:59

I'm a size 10 above average height and objectively I'm flabby and a bit fat.

I'd like to be toned and size 8. Id prefer to be skinny than curvy as I like androgynous clothing and I think it looks better on less curvy people.

Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself · 23/07/2026 08:01

Someone is selling a size 16 vintage 80s skirt on vinted. When she measured it, the sizing was the same as a modern day 10. Obviously we have got a bit bigger boned and taller in that time, bit not THAT much!

MamaToABeautifulBoy · 23/07/2026 08:04

Size 8-10 with curves and toned arms is perfect imho

Yes I agree, and I think size 10 “skinny” is likely closer to that than a supposedly “curvy” size 14.

Frazzled89 · 23/07/2026 08:06

I wouldn't say a size ten is stick size! I'd much rather be a curvy size 10 than a curvy 14. By curvy I mean a visible waist and good waist and good waist-to-hip ratio with decent sized boobs, not a big belly. My BMI is 19 but I am a 32c bra size so I'm happy with that but would like to be slightly bigger, but it's not possible for me.

It’s interesting how chest size interplays with overall size. My BMI is about 21.1 now, I’d like to look very slim but with size E boobs it feels like I’ll never get there. I always feel ‘matronly’ on top (I look great in lingerie, but alas can’t wear that to work!)

RedToothBrush · 23/07/2026 08:12

What an arsey ignorant OP.

Your dress size doesn't determine whether you are curvy or 'stick line'. That's your differential proportions that determine that.

No one would ever describe me as ever having been a stick. I'm petite. At times I've been a size 4. But definitely curvy.

I know women who are size 12-14 who are definitely more sticky like that me.

Then there's fat and curvy. That's curvy in a different way. We should make the distinction because this has impact on health and wellbeing of numerous groups.
