Too old for these? I’m 62 btw - I’ve never embraced the trainers with dresses vibe as prefer sandals, pointy flats or boots depending on season so these would be worn with jeans or shorts

They’re fine, just plain white trainers with coloured laces. I wouldn’t wear them as they’re not my style but if you are happy in them then go for it!

Newmeagain · 22/07/2026 00:08

No, you are not too old - but I am just not keen on these for anyone.

there are so many great trainers out there so you can do better. These look a bit clown like. Sorry !

MakemineaGandT · 22/07/2026 00:09

If you love them, wear them! Personally not for me, but we’re all different

MakemineaGandT · 22/07/2026 00:10

They’re a bit Mr Tumble tbh

managingexpectations · 22/07/2026 00:12

They’re fine for any age but they’re not for me. If you like them wear them. I wear plenty of things other people wouldn’t like but if I like it and it looks good then I’m happy

sallyluyah · 22/07/2026 03:04

I wear trainers but I don't like those personally. The laces look absolutely ridiculous unless you are a clown or 3 years old.

EleanorMc67 · 22/07/2026 03:14

It has nothing to do with your age?

I don't like them much - though I see they're Stella McCartney x Adidas Stan Smith ... they're too jolly-looking, plus I'm not keen on many white trainers - plus they're vegan leather aka plasticky. But - that's my taste not yours - if they fit with what you wear & your own style, then of course you're not too old!

Wow had no idea they were, I assume, expensive. They look rather cheap IMO, made worse by the awful laces.

dudsville · 22/07/2026 09:00

I imagine most trainers are fine to wear with jeans and shirts, and at any age. These are fun. If that's the look you're going for then you've nailed it!

TheMarriageOfAirAndFrock · 22/07/2026 09:02

I’m mad, me!

Is what they communicate. If you’re happy with that, wear them.

So boring to reference your age in relation to footwear … Do you like them? Do they fit? Can you walk in them? Are they - if it matters - appropriate to the occasion?

youngwhippersnapper · 22/07/2026 09:03

Like a previous poster, my first thought was Mr Tumble.

CinderellaParker · 22/07/2026 10:01

The only real questions is do they make you happy? Do you smile when you look down at your feet? Because that's what matters, not the opinion of strangers on the internet.

TheMarriageOfAirAndFrock · 22/07/2026 10:09

Well, no.

The purpose of the Style & Beauty board is to serve as a test bed - where the OP can hear the unfiltered comments of anonymous strangers. Because people may not say what they think in real life.

No one has to care what others think. But if you ask on S&B it’s likely that you do.

TwoCatsandAnxiety · 22/07/2026 11:47

No, too nursery school teacher. Definitely bin.

BillieWiper · 22/07/2026 11:49

I had some rainbow laces a few years ago. I wish I still had them! They're cute. Any age can wear it.

I think if the whole outfit was loads of bright colours it might be a bit OTT but if you keep it simple then it works.

JaneJeffer · 22/07/2026 12:23

Nope

OwlCalledSage · 22/07/2026 12:24

Are you Su Pollard?

They are atrocious.

pimplebum · 22/07/2026 12:25

I wish people would stop restricting themselves due to age

wear whatever you like at what ever age you like. Age is irrelevant

Lifelover16 · 22/07/2026 12:27

Like previous posters I agree they look a bit Children’s TV presenter. But if you like them, wear them, who cares what anyone else thinks!

honeylulu · 22/07/2026 12:46

I don't like white trainers. Whenever I see new ones I think oh yuck they'll look grubby within a week. But the rainbow laces are fun! I would wear them on black trainers. Most importantly, you like them!

DandelionsMakeMeSmile · 22/07/2026 12:53

it sort of depends on your general vibe. They wouldn’t suit me but I can think of two friends of mine who would be able to carry them off because their overall style is energetic and cheerful.

I would look like I’d stolen them from a CBeebies presenter

SpiralSister · 22/07/2026 13:23

I think they are hideous. But age is, of course, no barrier if you love them.

TheChosenTwo · 22/07/2026 13:27

It’s nothing to do with age, I just dislike them. Rather clowny. I like colourful trainers in general but dislike plain white and those laces are just silly looking to me.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 22/07/2026 13:38

Age is irrelevant. I like the trainer but not the laces. But if you like them get them.

bananaboats · 22/07/2026 19:58

Too clown-like for any age imo.
