Plus size non-wedding wedding dress

Can I pull off a non wedding-y dress for getting married in?

Size 22
5ft 10
Longish brown hair
Massive boobs but also very thick around the waist now
Will need to train myself to walk in anything more than a kitten heel
Flexible budget
Small wedding, registry office then some food and cocktails at home
November wedding, it will be cold
Been married before and don't want anything too bridal.
Not good legs but midi is okay.

I like the thought of a statement dress but not even sure where to start. In my head I have some sort of outfit that you'd wear to the opera, maybe something embroidered or long or metallic, just something different. But I don't know where to even start looking for options and have spent all day yesterday basically on the usual bridal websites not really finding anything

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I think some of the dresses from Marina Rinaldi are great, others I see I end up thinking Well they wouldn't suit me at all. I always get anything from MR from vinted/eBay.

Oh Adrianna Papell dresses can be worth a look.

For embroidered look at Indian fusion dresses, they know how to fit the larger woman too. Typically they can tailor it too to fit

Check out Anaya dresses. Beautiful, floaty, cheap, but really classy!

I really like the Katya Wildman collection and the purple Scarlet&Jo one that @24Dogcuddler suggested.

Isn't this "Bombshell" by another name? 🤔 I'm sure they even had a "Confident" dress in that shape.

I'm 5'10" and was a 22.
I wore Marina Rinaldi and bombshell (that can come up small). MR always do silk & wool duster coats. I wore them for weddings and big conferences if I was speaking.
I'm a clothes collector and will be putting loads on eBay shortly.
I liked the gold silk dress from KW. It looks very wedding like to me. Liberty also have escander which does plus as does Sahara.

I really like some Mac Duggall dresses, unfortunately the £££££ ones.

I think it needs to be coloured. My first marriage ended 12 years ago and for that I wore an actual wedding dress. Bleugh. Which is annoying as actual wedding dresses are/can be lovely.

I'm not normally much of a Phase 8 fan, but I do think this could be a great wedding dress option, especially if it's autumn/winter. Out of your size right now, OP, but worth setting up a notification request? Or seeing if there's one in a shop somewhere? Also, if there's one in a bigger size to be found, you can get it tailored to fit.

It's silk-blend too, which I was impressed by. And I think the shape would be good on you?

Btw - do you actually want to wear heels? As there are lots of beautiful, elegant flats out there these days ...

Btw it's not actually black & gold - if you look closely there are several colours in the metallic sections, so you have options for the colours used to accessorise - pinks/mauves, copper/gold.

I absolutely love this, the colour, the shimmer, the drama ... though it's out of stock in the 4XL - maybe worth checking out the designer's website though? Meant to be 18-20 but I imagine the shape would fit larger? I would happily get married in this ...!!!

Only in a size 20 right now, & I'm not sure what the fabric would be like close-up - but an elegant shape. And I think dark jewel colours with shimmer/beading/lustre would be perfect for November & also your brunette colouring?

Ah, that first one is Phase 8 - the nicest, IMO!

@EleanorMc67 WOW love a lot of these, thanks so much! The antelope is so different and a lovely shape. I do like a boho look so that could definitely be an option.

Also really like the Phase Eight and the Ralph Lauren. I like the boldness of the green one too but not sure I could carry it off.

I worry that with kaftans there is just a boob shelf and then nothing to give any kind of definition or structure under the boobs

I do quite like some of those but have had a couple in the past and didn't really suit the chiffon-y ones! But I see they have other options
