Just that really. I get advertised them a lot, but wondering if any of them are any good?

I use Eden perfumes because they are vegan. The one I use is near enough to Allure for me.

Treetreetreetree · 18/07/2026 19:46

I have but they don’t last and a bottle exploded in my bathroom. That put me off!

Branleuse · 18/07/2026 19:48

Yes I love dupes. Not necessarily the ones advertised as dupes, but there's plenty of stuff online about what things smell like what.
I've got some great tom ford dupes from aldi, and some lovely ones from primark

carly2803 · 18/07/2026 20:39

i have used the copy ones and they are crap and dont last

the ones in aldi etc are really good though!

YouDoIDo · 18/07/2026 20:53

I use essence vault for dupes and although a lot of them don’t actually smell like what they are a dupe of, they all do smell good and last the whole day. They normally have 3 for £34 then BOGOF so you get 6 full bottles of perfume for £34.

baaabaaa · 18/07/2026 21:00

i find verset perfumes to be pretty good, personally find the smell lasts longer. I’ve had several compliments. I recommend Luz Adriana :)

Pumpup · 18/07/2026 21:01

The M&S perfumes are fantastic dupes!

FishPie2 · 18/07/2026 21:07

I find M&S perfumes don't last until I get home. I have a spray in the shop, do my shopping and by the time I get home neither me nor anybody else can smell it.

Next are often excellent - sometimes often nicer than the famous fragrances they share notes with. I’ve always preferred their ‘Summer Sun’ to Estée Lauder’s Bronze Goddess, for example.

Another cost effective option is ‘older’ perfume from good brands that are less fashionable now but smell great and you won’t smell the same as every other passing woman. From the top of my head, some of the Elizabeth Arden ones, Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely range, Cerrutti 1881, the original Anais Anais, L’Air du Temps, Agent Provacateur, CK One, Obsession, Coty L’Aimant. .

Some of the French pharmacy brands, sometimes available in M&S or even local chemist shops like Roger & Gallet or Fragonard or even Nuxe are beautiful .

But they don't last

WorkCleanRepeat · 18/07/2026 21:32

A few of the ladies i work with wear essence vault and say they last all day.

Could you tell me which one. I love allure but don’t love the price x

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 18/07/2026 22:19

I use Perfume Parlour ( think they’re based in Leicester)…..I’ve bought loads over the years from them for myself and DH xand only had one that was a bit dodgy ….their dupe of Dolce Vita…..the others were all great….they don’t last as long but then sometimes you’re paying less than 20% of the original…..I

weaselwords · 18/07/2026 22:24

Zara are pretty good. I’ve got Apple juice (Chanel Chance Eau Tendre) and Gardenia that smells like Black Opium. Both last pretty well. Never forget the Lidl dupes too. Suddenly Madam Glamour is better than Coco Mademoiselle.

Fragrantica suggest that Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely Lights and Michael Kors Sexy Amber have some similar notes to Allure.

There’s also a Chanel Allure hair mist which is less expensive.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 18/07/2026 22:35

I use perfume parlour, initially as my favourite was discontinued but now I often buy some random ones to try for a few days to see whether I like them. One spritz instore is not enough for me as I like to live with a scent for a bit longer. The longevity varies, but I find them good value.

Ibwah · 18/07/2026 22:37

I use noted aromas and their Monte Carlo perfume is lovely and I get compliments on it all the time

WhatNextImScared · 18/07/2026 22:41

I tried some of the viral ones on Instagram and they’re were awful - smelled great for 10 mins then became very acrid, like urine! Never again

It’s number 31. On my skin it smells the same.

Skatefordinner · 18/07/2026 23:20

Noted aromas! Love them. My 3 best from their have been Cairo (jo malone - pomegranate noir), Monte Carlo (baccarat rouge) and New York (Santal 33)

i’ll definitely put a few extra sprays on in the morning but that’s the only difference but I think they are fantastic. Quite often have deals on too

youngestisapsycho · 18/07/2026 23:34

I bought a dupe of Jo Malone Peony and blush suede from Essence Vault, £15 for 30mls… I put it on at 10am and can still smell it on myself now.
The Armani Si that I paid £120 for only lasts a couple of hours then I can no longer smell it.

PhoebeBuffay1234 · 18/07/2026 23:49

I use Essence Vault. I have Love in White, Lost Cherry and Raspberry Ripple. I don’t actually know whether they are anything like the originals but I love them all. And oddly, I can’t normally wear perfumes at all. I have a couple of original perfumes that I hardly use because they give me a headache nowadays.

I always get complimented on them and I accidentally sprayed a bit of Lost Cherry last night (I was decanting some into a handbag sized atomiser) when I was putting my pjs away and I can still smell it on them now!

Zara's copy of Baccarat Rouge is spot on.
