Any ideas to make huge boobs look smaller!

I’ve just bought a lovely dress fora wedding in Italy in September but my huge boobs look terrible.
has anyone tried a minimizer. Bra?

It wasn’t unhelpful usually large boobs are down to being over weighr or obese.losing weight shrinks them, sure some women are slim with a large bust but it’s not the majority.

Yes I think some people are wearing the wrong bra size a size 8 is generally a 30 band, a 36 is a 16 t0 18 before the boobs dictate cup size,

For larger cup sizes, have a look at Elomi. They are really great for shaping and lifting bigger boobs. Also, they are comfortable if you get the right size.

It hugely depends on the cut, fit and material of the top. My rib cage measures 32 inches - and that is literally my ribs, I have no fat there at all. I have tops and dresses ranging from size 8 to 12. My rib cage, rather than my boobs, is the deciding factor, some 8s and 10s will not zip up over the base of my ribs though they are loose at the waist - my waist and hips are usually a size 6 in modern clothes, although all my 1990s size 12s that I have kept still fit me as sizes were much smaller then.

If you’re anywhere near Exeter, I can recommend a really good independent bra fitter.

I'm petite, likely a lot shorter than you at 5ft, not plus size and wear a 30HH (we exist and are actually very common tyvm!!!). It's awful, but the bra really is important- don't buy a minimiser. You want a bra by bravissimo or panache, or some other large bust specialist, places like m&s don't scale them up properly. A good bra will actually be nice and deep so the breast tissue isn't squashed up or to the sides. I wear a panache ana, personally, but then I need very low wires. Is the fabric gaping? pulling? I have to alter all my clothes, size to fit the bust first, and then take it all in. Can you tell us what the dress is? Is it a light colour? fabric? cut on the bias?

What size do you think 'large bust' starts at, out of interest? Back and cup.

For what it’s worth, a 40C is a smaller cup volume than a 30H! The sister sizes for a 40C are 38D, 36DD, 34E, 32EE and 30F. Going the other way, the sister sizes for the 30H are 32GG, 34G, 36FF, 38F and 40EE. It’s counter-intuitive because we expect cup volumes to stay consistent but they are relative to the band size. I agree with everything else that you have said!

That makes no sense, did you mean 90s or 50s/60s. Waist size was a 28-30 in a 12 in fhe 90s. Now it’s 29-30 so very similar. In the 50s and 60s it was a 25-26, which is a 6 today,

@iknowitsthePittsbutiloveit I doubt you're a 36GG as I wear that as a size 20/22 on the top. Your back size is likely to be smaller and that would make your cup size larger to maintain the cup volume of the bra

Same as me BC (although I wore the sister size: 28F). All front, no back is how i used to describe myself 😂

Anyway! OP @iknowitsthePittsbutiloveit Either take the dress with you to an independent bra fitter/lingerie boutique and see if you can find anything that works for you and the dress, or re-think the outfit and find a dress that works for your body. Another alternative is to take the dress to a seamstress/tailor and see if they can add a buillt in bra/some kind of rigging to hold you in place.

As a 32H I always have this issue. I usually size up to fit my bust but then it's too big everywhere else. I tend to stick to V necks and wraps these days but have just found a lovely dress for my wedding (second wedding so not a proper wedding dress) I was also going to try some minimiser bras. If you find any good ones, let me know.

That's not correct, I still own clothes from that period (1990s) and the waist for a 12 measures 26 inches - they are sitting in my wardrobe to prove it.

I've got clothes from the 1990s. An M&S size 10 skirt had a 23" waist.

An m and s skirt in the 90s in a 10 was 24-26.

I'm the same - size 8-10 waist, no hips at all but a 32FF. BMI well under the limit and run a lot. No budging the boobs what ever I do.

HAve you tried wearing a pretty camisole under the v neck. I find that the most flattering look for me is a scooped neck underneath a v neck.

A long pendant necklace helps IMO, it does a similar job to a V neck in cutting up the “block” of boobage. Try something that hangs longer than the V of the dress. Unless it’s already a very deep V neck?

Naturally, they won't want to own up to vanity sizing.
