Any ideas to make huge boobs look smaller!

I’ve just bought a lovely dress fora wedding in Italy in September but my huge boobs look terrible.
has anyone tried a minimizer. Bra?

Bravissimo routinely fit me into a back size too small for me. A 30 back doesn't wear in, it just hurts so much that I have to take it off by lunchtime. I've had independent bra fitters confirm that they see women "in a right state" and "cut in half" after Bravissimo fittings.

When you can add a bra extender to a bra and still get the support you need with no riding up at the back, the band is too small. I know that most women wear a band that is too big, but overcorrecting for that is also bad.

I self-fit at M&S these days, it's the only way I can get an underwired bra that supports and doesn't hurt.

I'm BMI 19 with 32DDs - very top heavy. Would love smaller boobs but that seems to be their natural size, breast tissue not fat.

One is telling the woman that she is fat and should change her body to suit her clothes, basically telling her that she's defective. The other is telling the woman to change her clothes because the change might suit her body better.

Guessing the OP bought it online and so had no idea of what it would look like on her prior to purchase.

I love the dress and it’s a v neck I think it looks ok but the boobs always muck everything up.
its a destination 🙄wedding in a hot place so jackets are out of the question.
unfortunately i cant afford surgery or i definitely woukd. All the women in my family have giant boobs.
I’ll look at the bra suggestions z. I currently wear a Chantal bra that was fitted in John Leeis but not many brands seem to sell GG

I’m sorry to be that person OP but I don’t trust John Lewis’s fitting and it’s unlikely that you are a 36 back. I’m a size 12-14 and a 30J. I would either use the Boob or Bust calculator or go to a Bravissimo or an independent fitter, if you’re lucky enough to have one nearby. Your sister sizes are 34H, 32 HH, and 30J. Brands like Curvy Kate, Panache, and Fantasie have loads of options.

I've recently tried a minimiser bra for the first time, a M&S Body Invisibles underwired minimiser - I'm not normally very impressed by M&S bras but this one is really good.

Yes, you can't make them vanish, but you can reveal more of your waist and make them less wide this way.

I really like a low square neckline with mid sleeves. The straight line divides the boob zone in two without the plunge of a v neck, and complements the shoulders. The mid sleeves similarly drawn attention to the waist.

I've just got a new bra and 3x new square neck tops, and yes, my boobs are still big, but they aren't dominating my figure any more.

It's not that unlikely. I am a J cup and have a BMI of 24. Even when I was underweight I still had a substantial bust. There are lots of people like me, which is why Bravissimo and similar shops sell bras with 28, 30 back sizes with large cups.

Yes, JL and M&S will conveniently size you as something they sell, not your real size!

M and s minimiser bras are great - take a few in to the changing room and choose what feels comfy.

as an aside - do we have to pay for breast reduction in the uk? And if so how much?

@Newgirls Yes. Vast majority pay. Mine were reduced in 1999 so I’m out of date but I think I paid £3,500 then. Obviously way more now but my life was transformed. No more size 16 tops and 12 bottoms. No more excess dress fabric in waist and hips. No more hating what I looked like and comments from men. Save up and do it!

It’s possible that she’s overweight, but it’s unlikely.

Bra size is about the PROPORTION of the breast to the rest of the body.

Someone who wears a 30H has large breasts that will be very noticeable. Someone who wears a 40C possibly has larger breasts by volume than the 30H woman, but would not look remotely disproportionate and wouldn’t need to consider bust size when choosing clothes etc.

I have been a size 18 and I’ve been a size 8. When I was a size 18 I was a 38H and when I’m a size 8 I’m 30H.

Fuck me. I knew things were bad but have we really fallen for the pharmaceutical propaganda so much we are recommending WLI for things like thus. Absolute morons out there. Seriously, why are people so stupid? Just FYI ZenNudist breast size is largely determined by genetics. Even when I was a very thin 7 stone I was a 30H.

I'm really tired of weight loss jabs being recommended on every thread - we all know they're out there if we want them but in this case it's not even relevant.

OP I sympathise, I'm not as thin but very booby and buying a dress for a wedding this summer has been a nightmare. I've tried minimisers but dont find they work, just squash your boobs flat against your arms and give you a really weird shape while not actually making dresses fit any better. My advice would be to get a really well fitting 'big' bra, the more old-fashioned sort that isn't glamorous or sexy at all but really holds you in under clothes and gives a better shape.

Your assumption that most women with big boobs just need to lose weight and exercise is pretty rude.

I'm 32GG/H with a BMI of 25.5. So yes a little overweight but even when I am lighter I am still a G/GG

Go shopping to bra shops selling minimiser bras and try them on for yourself. Take the dress with you, in original bag with receipt, and try it on over the top. If you're not convinced, take it back. There are lots of lovely dresses in the world and you don't need to be stuck with one that makes you self-conscious.

I doubt that you are a 36GG.That would give you a chest measurement of 40-41 or a 16/18 top.

I second the Prima Donna Madison. It's the only bra I've found (in 30 years of searching) that fits my boobs comfortably, and has a slight minimising effect without making a weird shape. It means I can wear t-shirts without scaring the horses. They're robust and last for years, so you do get what you pay for.

Not all of us with bosoms are overweight, which is why you need a specialist fitter that looks at your band size as well as cup size.

ex bra fitter here. You need to be clear if you want to look smaller face on or side on ,as a PP said,the breast tissue has to go somewhere. Traditional minimiser bras work by flattening your boobs so side on you look smaller,however facing you look wider, as the breast tissue is just spread. I’ve always preferred looking smaller face on ,for which I would suggest a well fitted bra with side sling support such as Lucia by Fantasie or Envy by Panache. They will feel and look very different to each other so I would recommend trying on with the dress ideally. My favourite bra as a 32G/GG is Panache Blossom,a balconette with a rounded ‘up front’ shape which might be worth a try🌻

Not all women with big boobs are fat. I'm a 34GG and a size 8 to 10. There are so many outfits I can't wear. It's a pain.
