Do jumpsuits suit anyone?

ToadRage · Today 12:27

This has been playing on my mind since my husband said that jumpsuits don't suit anyone. A friend of mine told me the opposite that jumpsuits suit everyone so thought I would have it a go and I now have two. I don't wear them often and he didn't comment when I did wear them on holiday but I have been reluctant to wear them even more since he said this even though it wasn't really directed at me personally. What do you all think?

Not me I’m too long in the body and short in the leg I get a major wedgie and a trip hazard with every step lol. But some women look great in them! And I’m sure you look fabulously wear what you like OP

You have to be slim and short bodied to look good in a jumpsuit. I hate getting 'debagged' in public toilets so avoid at all costs 😂

Trickedbyadoughnut · Today 13:52

Some look really good from the front, but I always think they look odd from the back.

But I think I'm just weird for thinking that.

I have recently bought this one from Oliver Bonas and really like it.
it’s so light and comfy and I can wear it without a bra which is a blessing in this weather!

I mean this really kindly, that jumpsuit isn’t doing you any favours. It’s not you, it’s the jumpsuit! It’s scruffy looking. The T-shirt isn’t helping. I would order several different types and have a try on, you can look good in the right cut ❤️

I hate the toilet situation too! It feels all wrong getting your top half out to pee, even at home.

DaisyMayBojangles · Today 13:56

The wee situation is a downside I ageee

This is the other one I have. Sorry don't have a picture if it on me, I wore it on a cruise a couple of years ago and got lots of compliments from other women. I used to have an hourglass shape but with very large boobs. As my weight has crept up my hourglass has disappeared.

I think most of us need more structure in the fabric , a thicker cotton or linen , not loose soft material.

Apricot often have nice styles , and you might possible like Lucy and Yak ones.

I love dungarees / jumpsuits but you have to be selective.

Fannyannie · Today 14:06

And that style you wore on the cruise is perfect. I’ve just bought a navy jumpsuit in linen by Nobodies Child.

Your hourglass is still there , it doesn’t disappear 🫶🏻🩷

That second one looks much more suited to you, OP, I’m not surprised it looks good on! I don’t agree with your husband that they don’t look good on anyone but I do think they are something that absolutely has to be the right one for the shape / height / proportions of the person wearing it - if they are they can look great but if they’re not they’re really going to look awful.

FlatWhiteExtraHot · Today 14:15

As always on here, if you’re not “tall” and “slim” everything looks hideous on you, so you might as well not bother ever buying clothes.

In the real world, jumpsuits look perfectly nice on most people as long as they are the right size for them.

WonderWeeksArentReal · Today 14:15

I'm fairly short and very pear-shaped and they look awful on me. Most of the jumpsuits I've seen suit tall willowy people that have both a smaller bust and bum. And they often look better with heels.

Tryagain26 · Today 14:18

I am not keen unless it's on a child
I am short and would never wear one.
But that's my preference if people find them comfortable and practical why not?

lmnabc · Today 14:18

IffWhite · Today 13:38

I quite like short ones, or tight ones like Donna ida.
Baggy is difficult to do, I think

@IffWhite you are one of the very few who can look stunning in a jumpsuit

That’s so not true on all counts, I think you let your sensitivity over come you.

Catarinabella · Today 14:22

I couldn’t wear a jumpsuit, wouldn’t be able to get it off quickly enough (sensitive bladder) When I need to wee, I really need to act quickly. Also think that one isn’t making the best of you, a dress would be more flattering x

Pistachiocake · Today 14:24

They look fine, but the idea of using a public toilet in them puts me off!

EnterQueene · Today 14:24

I don't see the point of jumpsuits - they are a nightmare to go for a wee and seldom look good on anyone. Yes, there are the exceptions that look great, but given the vast majority don't - why wear something so inconvenient?

I was coming here to say exactly this!

They suit very few people from the front, but on a select few they can look quite nice.

But from the back they look terrible on literally everyone. It makes it look as if you’re wearing a nappy because it elongates the waist to crotch region.

It doesn’t matter how slim you are or how fabulous you think you look from the front - from the back everyone looks appalling in a jumpsuit.

It’s akin to going out of the house and not brushing the back of your hair, only the front 😂

I don’t even understand why they’re so popular at the moment because they are singularly the most inconvenient piece of clothing ever!

Luvnhugs · Today 14:35

You have a very pretty face & the type of figure many outfits would flatter & you would look lovely. This jumpsuit definitely isn't one of them.

Lexingtonavenueandme · Today 14:37

No… jumpsuits don’t suit anyone. But some people think jumpsuits suit them.

That’s just not true. It sounds like you’ve had a jumpsuit fetish triggered

Purplecatshopaholic · Today 14:40

Jumpsuits can look great - as with any ‘difficult to wear’ pieces, it’s about the right cut and size for your figure.
