Whats the biggest looksMaxxing thing you've ever done that made a real difference?

It can be absolutely anything from losing weight to surgery to eating something specific to a beauty product, an enhancement that you have done every few weeks .

I'm in my mid-30s, and I used to be an attractive woman in my late 20s. Then I caught COVID, and due to long-lasting neurological symptoms, it's really taken a toll on the way I look. I've tried small doses of everything, but perhaps I need to be more persistent with one thing. I do have a really good diet. I get blow dries weekly. Wear good quality makeup, etc., but I just feel I look like crap all the time.

Tummy tuck and lipo.

But please not to the use of anything maxing 🤢

SusanSHelit · Yesterday 18:08

Loosing weight (5st and counting) and dressing how I actually want to not how my horrible ex thought I should dress. Turns out feeling like a badass in what I'm wearing looks good on me

Someone told me my skin looks like a baby’s the other day. That might be overstating things a bit. I’m 43, gave up smoking 10 years ago, don’t drink much booze, eat relatively clean but still enjoy/indulge regularly, don’t starve myself, don’t overexercise (BMI is 24 so I have a structure/fullness to my face that’s not bones, but it’s not filler!) No tweakments of any kind.

Trinny BFF cream. HRT. Grown out my greys and now they look like “expensive highlights” (according to the creative director at work, who’s not prone to compliments). Wear what suits me. Generally fairly happy in life, bar the usual irritations. Do yoga, go on walks, laugh with kids, chill with friends. Regular orgasms. That’s my prescription!

Weekly blow dries! At my salon it's £49 for a blow dry. Do you really enjoy the process? As in it's a relaxing, pampering self care exercise? I love using floatation tanks, infrared sauna, deep tissue messages, sound baths, mediation classes. I think it does improve my appearance as I release so much tension, I just look happier more relaxed.
Anyhoo my biggest physical improvements:

  • Mounjaro losing 40kg
  • tear trough and cheek filler
  • proper skin care routine
  • dressing for my body shape, (finally accepting I am an inverted triangle)
  • eyelash extensions
  • haircut more frequently, every 3-4 months
  • maintaining eyebrows
And I have just started strength training with PT, dermaplaning & microneedling, using retinol. I need to whiten my teeth, might get polynucleotides for dark under eyes as I am far too lazy for make up😅

Lost weight (not much, on me a stone makes a huge difference)

Teeth straightened and composite bonding

Breast reduction

Adding weights to my home workout routine. Not heavy - 3 to 5kg. My arms, shoulders and back are now strong and defined. My posture is better. I stand taller.

Taking magnesium glycinate supplements. My sleep is loads better and I look fresher as a result.

I wish I had a magic, non surgical solution for my varicose veins 😭

BigBrownBoogyingBear · Yesterday 19:01

What are all you inverted triangles wearing, @AspiringMermaidand @Iriseee? My shoulders are definitely my widest bit!

I had a tummy tuck and it was 10 years ago. I’ve had 2 babies since and my belly is incredible. Flat as a pancake but still have womanly curves and definition. My belly button had internal stitching as I HATE the sewn on look with tummy tuck buttons that look like a giant chocolate button. You’d never know I had it. I have lost and gained weight since having it (mounjaro is the second best thing I did) and it has remained near perfect still. Don’t regret a penny of it I spent!

TheyGrewUp · Yesterday 19:20

Being created by two well made and good looking people. It's genetic.

MyEasterBonnet · Yesterday 19:31

Losing almost 6st in mounjaro - would never have used it if not for this site.
Braces on my teeth finally straightening out my smile.
Getting a mole frozen off my face, it had appeared in the last few years and irritated me, and I hadn’t realised how easy it would be to get rid of it.

MyEasterBonnet · Yesterday 19:32

One thing I’m not as fussed on though - I had a colour consultation and I don’t bother to use the information from it, I just wear what I want as I found it too hard to stick to the colours and I genuinely can’t tell what looks good on people on those “colour reveals” that they do.

MargoisanA1arsehole · Yesterday 19:35

I’ve just googles looksmaxxing. No!! Just no!!

I drink loads of tea and coffee and never had a spot in my life, correlation isn't necessarily causation. I put it down to luck in the genetic lottery

And probably keeping my face out direct sunlight where possible

And on the contrary, I only drink water and my skin is bloody awful. Sadly, you can’t flush out hormonal problems!

Leopardspota · Yesterday 19:45

Finally accepting that long hair isn’t for me. It’s too fine and gets tangled/looks lank easily, so id need to see a hairdresser daily for it to look good. Jaw length I can keep it bouncy with a hot brush. I get a lot of compliments on my hair. I also get compliments on my skin (gosh you don’t look 40 etc) but it comes from genes and a bit of weight which means I don’t have many wrinkles. But I do wear Charlotte tilbury primer which makes a big difference too!

Garybarlowtopfan · Yesterday 19:58

I injected cows juice on my face to take me from a 3 to a 5
I’ve been told by people at the school especially Linda Lutton that my once hideous pig sty of a face has now turned into something rather pleasant

Botox microneedling and teeth whitening

Minasama · Yesterday 20:05

Not putting on (too much) weight and good haircut and colour. Also good diet/enough water.
I drink very little compared to one particular group of my friends and I definitely look younger - less lined and less tired.

I Was just being silly with the title, I thought it would get more attention instead of writing Glow up! 😆

Had a seizure at work and gained an orbital fracture on the right side of my face. I don't have any symmetry anymore but I have an extra 3mm of bone.

TheOGCCL · Yesterday 20:47

I think teeth whitening especially on paler skin tones.

And wearing colours that suit, which often isn't black.

Botox. Biodance facemasks weekly really do wonders for my skin.

When do you wear the face masks? I find them difficult to sleep in (having something cold and goey on my face wakes me up, not send me to sleep) but I also don’t have 3 hours to wear one. Would love to know how you work it into your weekly routine!

ThatAgileLimeCat · Yesterday 20:56

Drinking a ton of water
Being rigourous with skincare routine
Weightlifting has transformed my posture
Getting my nails done

Really need to sleep more and drink less but I know I wont.

GimmieABreakOr3 · Yesterday 20:56

Honestly? Botox and microneedling.
the occasional brow tint and lash lift. Voila.

HeidiLite · Yesterday 20:57

Lost weight.
strenght training with proper heavy weights has totally changed my body into something I am actually proud of and that random people on the street compliment.
Invisalign
tattoo brows and eyeliner
Yes to figuring out what style and colours work for you, instead of trying to follow whatever is in this season.

Flannelfeet · Yesterday 20:59

Got rid of all mirrors in the house 🤭.

Truly..nothing much, vitamin c serum and collagen skin care, lots of vitamins, plenty water and general hair, brown, lash, nail maintenance.
