High top trainers.
DMs.
Skinny jeans. Not possible for me.
Cleavages with plunging necklines. Gag city.

Totally did acid house though. Big time. I wear Birkenstocks but not as a style choice so much as a comfort necessity for those with unusually wide feet.

pmsl@ whale tail!!

I must admit to having had my nose pierced at a young age but it was cool back then as it was quite unusual....( vain emoticon). I had a tiny ruby in it which was fab.

triffictits · 23/06/2008 20:02

mumbles - never ever!

MadBadandDangeroustoKnow · 23/06/2008 20:28

JaneHH - not only did we go to the same optician, it seems we went to the same Betty Boop memorabilia emporium (although mine was a t-shirt, not a sweatshirt and, sadly, not reversible). What was that Betty Boop revival all about?

maidamess · 23/06/2008 21:41

Never had recently (ie last 2 years)

Gypsy skirts

Huge metallic belt made of discs worn round hips

Shapeless smock dress over leggings

(Although I'm rocking shirt dresses over leggings at the moment!!)

UGGS

High ankle boots.

Huge white plastic sunnies, a la Nicole Ritchie. Or was it Shane Ritchie?

harpomarx · 23/06/2008 22:01

combats and heels

french manicured toenails

crocs

beige linen

cyteen · 24/06/2008 13:07

Belts, full stop. As Heather memorably put it in, er, Heathers, I can't accessorise for shit. this means that any trend of wearing utility items such as belts purely for decoration has whizzed straight over my head.

Plus, ever since I got my navel pierced, I get a contact rash from metal buckles so even for the purposes of trouser-retaining belts are pretty much out.

cyteen · 24/06/2008 13:08

Oh, and 'camel', as in the colour not the creature obviously. Every few seasons one or other of the wanky style supplements starts harping on about how camel is timeless and classic, completely failing to mention the most important thing about it which is that it is BEIGE.

SheherazadetheGoat · 24/06/2008 13:27

hankerchief tops
2 hairstyles @ the same time (this is a recurring thing atm all the hairdressers look like they have jet black hair with an ill fitting blond wig on top. in the nineties it was teh rachel mullet with bob on top)

harpomarx · 24/06/2008 21:58

lol at two hairstyles, sheherazade - I assume you are talking about the ones that actually have a hairstyle instead of just really crap hair?

cyteen, noooo - camel is not beige! it is gorgeous and caramelelly and makes your skin look glowing as opposed to grim (beige effect)

cyteen · 25/06/2008 08:40

Really? Maybe it's just me then, I have quite sallow skin and anything in that shade range just makes me look like I've got jaundice.
