Awful memories coming back of mandatory John Lennon glasses when a student. Wish I hadn't done those.

Back to thread ....

have never done anything genuinely 'designer' (ie not top-end high street) although did make a Givenchy dress in my Vogue dressmaking days

I am pleased to say that I looked on in despair whilst the entire sixth form swanned around in flares the size of curtains in the early 90's and got very wet legs whenever it rained as the water soaked up to their knees. cool I have never been but I do like to be dry....
Did have a period of dressing like star from lost boys though, skirts with bells on type thing, not good.

oh yes those thongs poking up in all their red nylon glory over the top of yer trousers. Just wear a badge saying "I'M ON THE GAME".
That should do it.

donnie - #~I believe it's called a whale tail. One of the grannies (yes really) at the school gate is a repeat offender.

Those fur gilet/waistcoat things a few years ago-in the SUMMER, though.

Made all womankind look like gypsy-skirt wearing cave-women

Yuk, Malory.

Remember that grey one from Per Una that was instant sell-out. Foul!

This recent obsession among teens with the eighties and looking like Kate Nash. I will be avoiding doing that.

at "one pair which were blue at the top, graduating to pink at the bottom, followed by another pair in a sort of jade green and black mosaic." Did we go to the same optician, MadBad?

By the time I even consider getting anything like a poncho it's already on its way out (am therefore v reliable not-fashionable-anymore indicator).

piercings
cropped tops (to showcase extra piercings)
leather jackets a la Michelle on 'Enders
Uggs
wedge sandals (or are they still in)
and
ponchos

I haven't got into any trends in my 42 years on this planet.

Curiously (or perhaps not), however, every fifteen years or so, I seem to come back into fashion.

dh always says I'm the classic 60s chick. I don't think he's far wrong.

The 80s were a nightmare for me. I hated the music and the fashion .. and I was in my 20s!!
