@OftenOrange London sounds utterly miserable, I’m sorry.

ScottishMouse · 10/07/2026 12:51

Oh that is disappointing @MsDastardley! I am waiting for the skirt in the Ikat fabric, expecting it tomorrow. I wouldn’t mind the navy being very dark, but do not love the sound of the light blue at all. Would you mind posting a photo of the fabric to give us a better idea?

I feel like I am seeing things! Been walking round the house trying to get a photo which picks up the blue, but it’s not showing up well. Mine is definitely duck egg! I’ve taken a couple of photos with an Ikat dress I got from Brora. I think the background colour is true but pale blue not really showing up.

I am interested to know what your skirt is like. I love dark navy and white so was imagining wearing the skirt with white tee. I wear the Brora dress with some tan sandals and they look nice, but they just look wrong with the Toast dress. Very strange!

Oh interesting @MsDastardley. I think I can see a hint of blue in the last photo, but really only because you said it was there. I shall report back when my skirt arrives.

MsDastardley · 10/07/2026 13:51

@ScottishMouse thank you. Do you follow Irishgirlinglasgow on instagram. Sounds similar to you, likes Toast, moved over from Ireland years ago, but lived in Glasgow!

ScottishMouse · 10/07/2026 13:55

I do @MsDastardley. Weirdly, someone once mistook me for her in a shop here! I was very flattered.

MsDastardley · 10/07/2026 13:57

@ScottishMouse I would be too! I like her style, she knows what suits her.

clearsky · 10/07/2026 13:58

I tried together a refund on the difference between what i paid for the Japanese indigo jacket at the start of the sale and the price now but i was refused since i bought it more than 14 days ago. Oh well. I haven’t even worn it yet as it’s too hot.

ScallopShellWalk · 10/07/2026 14:43

@clearsky that's very interesting. I wouldn’t have thought you would get that response. Though I do recall being told once that since I was still in the return period they’d refund but I thought they were just repeating back to me what I said. How many days out from receiving your jacket were you? It’s from when you receive it. I received mine at the start and when I returned it I had only a day to go of the 14 days.

faustina · 10/07/2026 14:51

That's a shame @clearsky. I suppose it is fair(ish) though, if too late to return.

My last two orders arrived and I'm really disappointed! The suki trousers just plain don't suit me, the crinkle top in blackberry is a lovely colour but it's too neat and the neckline pulls up at the top, and finally the cotton linen twill jacket fits but I don't think the shape or colour suits me

I think I'm just going to keep checking to see if my size in the sap green jacket turns back up. I've ordered so many things this sale and the only one I've kept is a rug! Never had so little success before!

I don't mind it when it's hot up to about 28-ish, so long as it's consistent, so I can just live in loose shorts. It's variability I'm not keen on - when it keeps changing and can't make its mind up, and I definitely prefer life when it's 20+ and sunny. Luckily no mosquitos here this summer - poor you @OftenOrange !

CandidCrow · 10/07/2026 15:10

Long time lurker here 🤓 I received the ikat skirt this morning and immediately put it on 😁 it’s shockingly expensive with toast’s euro conversion but I still love it. It’s definitely duck egg blue

CandidCrow · 10/07/2026 15:11

I tried to post a picture of me wearing it (within my face) hopefully it will show up soon

ScottishMouse · 10/07/2026 15:12

Looks lovely @CandidCrow. I can’t see the blue in your photo either. I’m hoping I can’t see it in mine when it arrives, but if it’s very obvious I will likely be sending it back.

ScottishMouse · 10/07/2026 15:12

What is the sizing like @CandidCrow? I went for S but have been M in some skirts recently. Is the waist tight?

ShanghaiDiva · 10/07/2026 15:13

@CandidCrow - gorgeous!

CandidCrow · 10/07/2026 15:17

@ScottishMouse i’m a size 18 in toast and the xl fits well, not tight at the waist and very swishy!

@ShanghaiDiva thanks! I’m still wincing at the price but with the summers getting warmer and warmer I think I will wear it a lot

Stoic123 · 10/07/2026 15:19

Hello everyone.

Latest sales order arrived today - wide legged twill trousers which I'm going to try in a smaller size as the recommended size was much too big but I love the material. Postie asked if there is Toast sale on as he's been delivering loads of packages.

Total sales tally, excluding TBC trousers above: a cushion cover, 1 Cove bowl, a pair of Falke socks, the blue gauzy scarf and the Railroad Stripe skirt. About normal for a longer Toast sales these days.

Edited

It was 18 days. They said if it was less than 14 I could’ve sent it back and ordered another which is why they offer a refund of the difference.

ScottishMouse · 10/07/2026 15:49

Thanks @CandidCrow Enjoy it!

ShadowViolet · 10/07/2026 15:50

I received my non-sale order - Baya striped shirt and the open stitch polo.

To my surprise the Open Stitch Polo looks really good. I just wish the sleeves fitted a tiny bit better. It's my freakishly long arms, not the actual garment that is the problem here. 'Interesting' sleeve lengths usually end up looking a little bit off to my eyes, but apart from that I l really love it - nice design, interesting colour, lovely texture...looks good in a Teams meeting!

The Baya striped shirt is another winner. It was actually the Baya design that first brought me to Toast as I make my own shirts and was looking for some inspiration. So I've made Baya inspired shirts, but never actually owned one, until now.

ScallopShellWalk · 10/07/2026 15:54

@CandidCrow very lovely skirt. My eyes opened wide at your photo.

@clearsky thats good to know though as I was never sure. Sorry you missed out on a refund this time.

I had an order arrive today. My poor post lady looked boiled in the heat. So stopped briefly for an iced cold water and a passing chat. The least I can do with all the ashamedly number of parcels being delivered here. I feel so greedy and like I have a problem. 😫

Anyway, my order was the chefs stripe top which is nice and will be a great contribution in colder weather. Hard to imagine wearing it right now. Also a beautiful white shirt with covered buttons. So lovely I’ve been looking for a white cotton shirt for a year or so and now I have one. Also the blue gingham gauze scarf, very nice.

I have noticed a couple of things in the sale that don’t show up in the sale section. I had to search for an item category and noticed a secret item. So if any of you had hoped to find something it might even be there. Don’t want to get hopes up though. I find this a lot on toast website. I now type reworn and I get 20 more items than under the reworn section.

ScottishMouse · 10/07/2026 16:05

I have that white shirt @ScallopShellWalk and really like it.

OftenOrange · 10/07/2026 16:54

Forgot to mention the Paisley blouse in navy and red; I didn’t care for it before but added to my order because a ‘ bargain.’ ….
It’s rather lovely , really beautiful cotton , very well made and a nice neat fit in XS ( I swing between XS and S , but 8 always works !)
I’m thinking Provençal rather than frumpy to convince myself it’s a keeper to wear with pale jeans or ecru Annies

MsDastardley · 10/07/2026 17:17

@CandidCrow your skirt looks fabulous. I really like the colour you have put with it, looks great.

@ShadowViolet I really like the open knit polo. Not something I would have previously thought about but have seen a few positive comments on here.

IlovePond · 10/07/2026 17:23

That skirt looks good @CandidCrow and I like the sandals too!

@ScottishMouse I’m glad to hear you like that white shirt and it’s stood a little test of time. I had t noticed it at first and was unsure if I was only buying it because it was reduced but I really like it.
