I haven't read every post since the sale started, so may have missed this -- but have the reviews disappeared for anyone else on the Toast website? I can't remember this happening in previous sales, but they completely went the day before. If it's not just me, is it because they want you to buy more without being able to see what others have said about the item? I find the reviews generally pretty useful and their absence is irritating.

Yes @Niminy - it’s an unwelcome new development. Reviews were missing when the sale started, came back briefly only to disappear for good a little while later!

Mind you, they chase you for reviews, and then when you leave one saying 'yet again, I am begging you, for the love of all that is holy, make some garments in shorter lengths' they either ignore you or post one of those AI 'we are sorry this garment wasn't right for you, we have many other very long pieces in our collection' replies.

oh I thought the same about reviews, but they’re on the site if I use my laptop, but are missing when I use my mobile. Strange.

I seem to have missed the green tea towel skirt going into the sale which I really wanted. From past sales, does anyone know if things get restocked from being returned, or if I should just get over it and wait for the next sale?

I think it’s cookies. Just before the sale I was asked to accept cookies. So I think if you accept the cookies you’ll see the reviews. I can see all reviews on my phone.

@Doritochaser - Toast used to be excellent at restocking sale stuff regularly/daily. Nowadays they MIGHT do a proper restock once or twice a sale but it’s really inconsistent.

I don’t think I had that message. Can’t see the reviews on phone or laptop. Mind you, I don’t get emails from Toast either. I used to, now they’ve stopped. I suspect something to do with updating the website.

Am I the only one who felt like they’d escaped from a nativity play in that teatowel dress?

Well I’ve escaped from a picnic in the check tablecloth. I do like it though. Fit is good for me, generous in my normal size but I couldn’t have got away with sizing down as it has front buttons. Nice weight cotton. My only slight issue is the width of the sleeves but I think I can fix that easily enough. Definitely a keeper. I sent back the bandana as it wasn’t quite the colour I thought online.
The new brown Cleo t shirt is excellent.

The absence of reviews is a bit annoying. If they had left them up they might have avoided a lot of returns.

I love the dress, as I mentioned for me it’s pared down Japanese when I opted for the larger size , I think it’s beautiful.
However I didn’t keep because my lifestyle at the moment doesn’t have much opportunity to wear it when I have similar already , and most of the Summer is spent in a hot climate ( !!!!)

Had my first glimpse of the recent drops , my main take was how a little steaming would have improved some of the pieces so much, that new Garland Stripe co ord in rust and cream looked so distressed with creasing in patches I wondered if it were intentional…
The Jamdani red hand woven pieces were so soft and fine , not sure that’s a quality I seek in a jacket though.
I loved the poplin linen box pleat skirt , especially in slate , though I’d thought I wanted it in ecru the slate looked so arty .

Has anyone bought that slate pleated skirt , and if so do you find it an easy to style , useful piece?

Has anyone tried the new cropped denim trousers? I absolutely love them, they are totally my sort of thing. I tried them in store at the weekend though and the pleats seemed to add too much bulk to my not slim mid-section. But I can’t stop looking at them. I am feeling the pull to try them again, would
love to hear thoughts from someone else who has tried them though.

I really liked that blue tea towel dress when I tried it. Unfortunately, the ties hit at the wrong point for me as I’m short and it was too long too. Really interesting though, I’ll bet it looks lovely on anyone taller than 5’2”.

@OftenOrange@ScottishMouse I am also 5’2. I suspect that is the problem. It’s a beautiful colour and looked lovely on the model.

@oftenorange I tried the slate skirt on in the Edinburgh store , I didn’t buy it simply because of the price I’d definitely buy it in the sale . It’s quite heavy so useful all year round really, I’d style with tee shirts or jumpers .

Had anyone got the Steve Mono Maypole Sandals please and if so what do you think of them? Reviews are mixed and they're very expensive but I do need something similar as I lost both my big toenails from wearing tight ski boots this past winter and my feet are looking pretty gnarly!

Anyway, with all this talk about the fit of the tea towel dress I thought I'd share a photo of it on me. Don't worry, I'm wearing closed toe shoes 😁. I'm 5'4' and although a size 10 in most clothing ranges I ended up sizing way down to an XXS. I like the way it fits me and the tie hits my waist at its narrowest point. I know it's meant to be worn more oversized but I thought even the XS swamped me and prefer it this way. I know I need to iron my dress and clean my mirror!

That’s such a pretty colour @Whowhatwerewolf - thanks for posting - it’s weird how Toast clothes often look better irl than on the models!

Maybe we should all offer to model for them - as long as we get to keep the clothes 😅.

Thanks for the compliments and I do love it. I posted my XS back yesterday so I guess soon they'll have at least one of the dresses in stock.

So interesting because it suited me best sizing up a couple of sizes !
I love asymmetric dresses and the design team enhanced that with the stripes.
