In case anyone else is considering it - my tea towel stripe dress arrived and I like it. It looks better in person I think than on the website and it also looks better with movement than in still photos so I think they missed a trick not putting a video of it up. It's interesting and different without being too "out there" and it will be great for work as well as things like going to museums etc - it has an arty vibe and I think it looks expensive as well it should. It's quite boxy and as a size 10 I got the XS and even that looks a bit oversized on me (which I know is the fashion but I'm used to dresses with a slimmer fit). You can't use the waist tie to accentuate your shape because it only ties on one side so looks asymmetrical unless loosely tied. Also despite the fabric feeling quite substantial it's actually see through and will need a slip worn with it. But overall it's very good and is a keeper.

I ended up ordering the navy seersucker dress. I waited for a 10 and it just arrived in about half an hour ago. I’ve realised that I’m less keen on colourful clothes these days and I think this could offer a nice warm weather option. I hope I like it.

I love Vinted for both buying and selling . The algorithm shows me all the Toast stuff and I’ve bought some really lovely things at a fraction of the price . Today I wore my new to me Toast v neck linen dress orange /red a bargain £26
Ive no idea how old it is it’s got sleeves pockets and is quite long .
I’ve also been wearing my blue soya linen check swing dress , it’s perfect in the hot weather but looks great styled with a jumper so I’ll get lots of wear .

I did consider trying the green tea towel skirt and teaming it with the men’s shirt same fabric but I dithered too long and it’s now out of stock , better for my bank balance …..

I’m thinking of ordering a pair of Flower Mountain trainers. I know a few of you have them, wondering how you rate them. They have just got some in navy which I will probably go for. I really like the hydrangea blue and chalk but perhaps won’t get much wear out of them

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - glad to hear your twill belted trousers work for you. Mine arrive tomorrow in two sizes so I have my fingers crossed. Like @IlovePond I've sent all my other sale buys back (except the rug) - also still hoping a cord jacket will materialise in the returns.

I have returned it @ScallopShellWalk I just couldn’t see myself wearing it enough but have ordered the cream version instead to try ( not hopeful) .
A couple of nice things in the new drop.

@Countmeout I was so so keen to try it. I think I’ve got it blown out of all proportion in my mind. I sometimes do visit places where this could work, if the weather chooses to be hot. Otherwise a seersucker light dress might sit hanging up in waiting in a Scottish closet. If I like it, I’ll be happy to keep it. I have possible use yet this year. I do however have another navy sleeveless dress, so I didn’t want to consider it before.
I hope you like the light coloured dress and it will serve you better.

I’ve washed the twill cotton belted trousers. They are currently drying hanging up and they don’t look creased, I won’t be ironing anyway.

@MsDastardley - I have the FM trainers. I really like them but they don’t provide any support for me when my PF flares up, so I can’t wear them at the moment, unfortunately.

Thanks @IlovePond I thought they would be supportive. Don’t have any foot issues though so will give them a go. I bought the Novesta’s a couple of years ago and they have served me well, but time for a change.

There’s a lot in the new drop that I like, I’m not sure that’s a good thing.

I'm waiting to hear with baited breath if they still rustle @ScallopShellWalk but it's encouraging that they're not super creased.

Glad those trousers worked for you @Theteapotsbrokenspout. I'm still undecided on keeping them or not....the length is also going against them. Just a tiny bit too short for me. But I do like the colour and the cut.

A pair of flower mountain sandals on Vinted for £50 if anyone wanted to try them out. I know they didn’t suit @IlovePond but I live in mine outside work in this weather.

@ShadowViolet they are dry now and I don’t see, or hear, anything different.

@triggers34 I don't know if it would be any use to you but I have just returned a green tea towel striped skirt. I followed the Toast recommendation and bought a large, although I usually wear a Toast medium or 12. It was far too big, I think even a medium might have been too big. Anyway it has gone back and may come back in to stock? I should say it was also very long on me (5'4')

Yet again I don't really want anything in the sale or the new drop. Does anyone buy from L. F. Markey? What's the quality like?

Please could I ask if anyone has been to a Toast exchange event in one of their shops and if so what did you think of it? Apparently you can take up to five items and exchange them for other things. I'm considering a trip to Harrogate which is two hours from me at least partially for this purpose (ok, mostly for this) and I'd like to know whether it's worth doing

I like a few things in the new drop - the blue flower mountain trainers, the denim cropped (though not on me!) trousers and shirt, the Ikat skirt and the totem print bandana. I was hoping for more knitwear, but I’m not a fan of the cotton linen knits.
I got a Toast voucher for my birthday last week. Not sure how much it is for though, I guess there must be a way to check but I haven’t so far. If I ever get a voucher, I like to save it for a special piece rather than frittering it away on the sale 🤣 The Ikat skirt is definitely a contender.
But I need to be more realistic about what I actually wear irl as opposed to in the dream life in my head! Good everyday trousers and knits might be dull, but are far more useful to me. I brought two skirts on holiday with me but have only worn two pairs of shorts, as they are much more practical.

@Whowhatwerewolf I think experiences here with the exchange events are
mixed. I have been once, and although I live very near a store, I have not bothered again. I held onto what I had brought until I found something I wanted to swap for, which I didn’t, so I took them home again. I later sold all those pieces on Vinted. However, some folk here have reported that they now ask you to hand over your items when you arrive, and if there is nothing you want to take in return, then you go home with some tickets you can use at a later date. I personally wouldn’t be happy to do that. I thought a lot of the items were very well worn, much more so than what I had brought, and some were very old pieces. I also find the bun fight nature of these things quite unpleasant.
Items are graded according to the price they originally cost, and there are three tiers (I can’t remember the price point cut offs, though someone else might), so you also need to be aware that for each item you bring, you can only swap for something in the same tier - which is fair enough, but annoying if you only find things in another tier.
That said, my local store has a permanent swap rail and I have got a few good things from that.

@Whowhatwerewolf - I agree with @ScottishMouse - the exchange events used to be ok, but now you are expected to hand things over without being able to see if there is anything to swap that suits you.

It seems very likely to me that this change is to expedite the acquisition of lots of lovely items which, if not swapped during that event, reappear as Reworn items for sale on the website in the not too distant future.

I have, however, been to an event under the new regime and DSis has been to a few recently.

This is what we do:

Hand over one item that we frankly don’t care about and aren’t bothered about trying to sell, and get a ticket.

Gain access to the swap rails and see what is there.

If there are nice things available, mysteriously rediscover extra items at the bottom of your bag and hand those over for more tickets.

If the rails look unpromising, do the best you can with your one ticket and take all your other stuff back home with you.

DSis went to a brilliant one in central London a couple of weeks ago, but the one before that she said was rubbish.

My railroad stripe shirt has finally been delivered after its week's touring holiday. It’s nice and fits well but now I’m wondering if I might prefer the chambray blue baya shirt from the new drop.

Re: The FM sandals - I thought the footbeds of both pairs I tried on were very comfortable. Unfortunately the sale pair I got recently had very short straps - one much shorter than the other! The ones I tried on in Harrogate were fine, so I think the sale ones were faulty.

It probably also didn’t help that I tried them on during v the hottest day of the year!

If I hadn’t sent so much stuff back I might have tried again with a different colour, as it is, I don’t feel like I can order again as I have sent so much stuff back during this sale.

Very disappointed that my twill belted trousers are still in Swansea. They were supposed to arrive today - and it says there are further reductions but I can't see any

@ScottishMouse happy birthday for last week. I just wear shorts nowadays when it's hot too, so long as not too short or fitted

@faustina I bought that jacket in last summer’s sale and I like it. It’s a very ‘easy’ option and much more realistically priced in the sale, definitely not worth full price IMHO.

I don’t like anything in the new drop which is good because my (largely non-Toast) sale shopping has been enthusiastic!

@mizu Please may you ask you about the FM trainers? I’m usually an Allbirds wearer (how terribly 2019 of me…) and am
looking for an update. I mainly would wear them with denim pinafores and tights in the AW, do you think they work not with trousers? Are they true to size? Any info welcome, I may pounce if I see my size in the sale ones. TIA

@Saurus72 - I think I read your review of that jacket before buying, if you used a similar name? I was trying to work out which size to go for and that review said they'd gone down two sizes. I notice it's been despatched already - perhaps it'll meet up with my trousers in Swansea and they can travel together.

I had some of the FM trainers (chalk and red) and the sizing was spot on, with a good width right to the toe. They were too flat for me so I rehomed them but otherwise very comfortable
