@ShadowViolet I have the light cotton twill trousers and I agree they are crisp and rustly also slightly sheen. I picked them out in the shop as I liked the material and colour. The shape is baggy perhaps but I like all these things about them. I haven’t notice much creasing but I guess there are some. I’ve worn them quite a lot but haven’t washed them yet. I always try to hold off on a first wash. One thing I’m not sure about is whether they will hold the heat, which I don’t want.

ScottishMouse · 29/06/2026 18:29

Lying in the blazing sun today I ordered some wool cashmere sweaters. Obviously. I’m
slightly missing the Scottish weather 🤣 I’ve gone for the neat one in night sky and I’m trying two colours of the one with the elbow length sleeves. Does anyone know how this one fits? I’ve ordered two sizes just in case.

ShadowViolet · 29/06/2026 18:48

I wondered if the fabric had been treated with something that creates that rustling @ScallopShellWalk as a twill fabric doesn’t normally make much of a sound.

I suspect this pair had a tough time in the post, so good to know that you haven’t found creases to be that much of an issue when wearing them.

Which colourway did you order @faustina? I suspect that the sheen and walking trousers vibe will be less in the lighter colour.

faustina · 29/06/2026 18:56

@ShadowViolet - it does say poplin as well as twill, and I think poplin shirts can be a bit rustly. I've gone for the lighter pair. I'm hoping tomorrow morning they'll do a restock and there will be more jackets

Thank you @ScallopShellWalk, and have a lovely time @ScottishMouse

CakeAndJazz · 29/06/2026 20:08

Hope you have a nice time away @ScottishMouse.

@faustina so good that you’ve had some Reworn wins, and hope the trousers work out too. @ScallopShellWalk I’ve tried to fix the stitching on the Reworn cardigan, but have not had any luck. I’ll be returning it soon.

ScallopShellWalk · 29/06/2026 20:48

@CakeAndJazz it was worth a try for sure and a shame it wasn’t possible to fix it.

OftenOrange · 29/06/2026 21:00

@Yorkshirelass04 That’s a gem of a dress , love the red and white stripe fabric.
I have the same style in greengage, it was in the sale last year and again this time.
I’ve worn it such a lot as it looks fine bra less and it’s so cool and airy .

Cricketduckout · 30/06/2026 14:37

Since shopping in the current sale (I am officially done!) I have realised I have quite a few hardly worn items and even new pieces that I would like to sell on.
Having seen not great reviews for Vinted, not sure where else is best to sell, any ideas?

mizu · 30/06/2026 14:56

@Cricketduckout I’ve been buying and selling on Vinted for a few years and recommend in the main. I’ve only had 1 tricky customer in well over 100 sales.

Easy to use too. EBay and Depop are much less used by me now.

ellequick · 30/06/2026 15:40

Does anyone have any intel or thoughts on when the sale may end? I’ve been umming and ahhing about the Pantry Stripe dress and hoping there might be a further reduction. I haven’t seen many people mention it and am very undecided!

IlovePond · 30/06/2026 16:23

@Cricketduckout - You could try selling on the Toast FB selling page. I am not in it as I don’t do FB, but I think some people on here do, (I think it’s still running).

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 30/06/2026 16:43

@IlovePond @Cricketduckout yes, it is still running and very lively. I’ve had nothing but good experiences both buying and selling there.

faustina · 30/06/2026 16:53

@Cricketduckout if you're interested in the FB group, do a search for Toast UK buy and sell (unofficial) and you will find it. It's a private group to keep out resellers, so you'll need to join

IlovePond · 30/06/2026 16:55

Btw: I had to return the Moroccan glasses I bought in the sale. I have been wanting these for ages, but all except two were so wonky you couldn’t really have drunk from them and one also had a huge white splodge within the glass.

DH unwrapped the set for me and was actually laughing at them when I came in. I was about to leap to their defence but had to admit they were dreadful.

My set was presumably a return, (as they had been out of stock), and there is no way these should have passed quality control. I know they are hand made but they looked like something a child would create, (assuming a child could start handling molten glass 😹)

I am so fed up with this sale. I thought I would be safe with homeware, but apparently not!

My Reworn order was fine, tbf, just none of it fitted/suited me but my sale purchases have been terrible.

I also feel really bad for sending it all back.

faustina · 30/06/2026 16:58

Oh that's a shame @IlovePond . I admired those glasses and the matching carafe and thought of buying them until one of my sons pointed out that no-one in this house ever uses tiny glasses - they're very sweet though!

Kinfluencer · 30/06/2026 19:40

I bought the Red graph paper check top and another Crinkle cotton top in Oat in the sale

Sadly the Graph paper top was very disappointing

Nice colour but very odd fit
The shoulders were really wide but the bust pulled slightly
The collar also did nothing for me so it went back

The Oat crinkle cotton is lovely
I really fancy the Tomato red but it looks rust to me

@Cricketduckout Ive bought and sold masses on Vinted and only had one issue
I sold a brand new pair of Toast trousers that were a little too large, immaculate condition

The buyer sent me a huge long rant about how they didnt fit blah blah , what a total waste of money they werenot my problem

I only previewed her message as I was out having lunch and by the time I got home she had deleted it

I checked her feedback and she was as mad as a box of frogs 😂

I check feedback when people like my stuff and any dodgy ones get blocked immediately

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 30/06/2026 20:12

One of my sale parcels dispatched last Thursday appears to have spent a pleasant weekend in Swansea and is now having a trip to Birmingham, I’m assuming it will reach Norfolk eventually 🙄.
I tried to reorder in the hope it would get here sooner but it’s oos in my size.

Whowhatwerewolf · 30/06/2026 20:35

Thank you so much @Kinfluencer - I have been kinfluenced! I had been wanting one of the crinkle tops in red but it was out of stock in my size. Your post prompted me to go and look at the Oat - and while that's out of stock for my size the red one was back so I bought it. And I picked up the blue also while I was in the neighbourhood 😂. At least I hope they're in my size. I'm a size 10 and got the small so hopefully that's right.

I had been looking at the graph paper top also but while the colour and print look lovely I didn't understand how the cut could work. So thank you for saving me the hassle of a return for that one.

I ordered the blue striped tea towel dress a couple of days ago and that's due to arrive tomorrow so I'll post about it when it turns up. I received the sculpt print fluid shirt dress last week but sent it back. In case it's useful for anyone considering it - I had sized down to an eight but shouldn't have and it pulled across my (fairly hefty I grant you) chest but fit well everywhere else. I also didn't like the colour as it was so dark and the print was so busy. I should have figured that out from the website photos but I sometimes get fooled by that very cool looking dark haired pale skinned model and think something will look interesting on me. When in fact she's a Winter and I'm an Autumn who suits more muted colours and prints best so the dress would just have looked odd rather than interesting given my colouring even if it had fit correctly.

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/06/2026 20:40

@ellequick , I have th pantry dress. I tried it on in Kensington when it first came out and ended up going with the pantry blouse (which I haven’t worn much), but I know I would grab the dress when it went into the sale. I have a 12, am a standard 12, it fits like a dream, very forgiving, and I love the ‘dressing gown’ vibe. The tie is long enough to wrap around the waist and tie at the front with plenty left to hang down (unlike the paisley dress). I think it looks very flattering, the waist gives you a bit of curve, I have already worn it on two consecutive weeks to work.

On a similar note, I paid full price for the paisley poplin dress and love it. I wore it in March in Malta and wore it down to Cornwall on the train as the heatwave was kicking in. I think it is a lovely shape, very light and easy to wear.

I ordered the Japanese culottes, they look way better than on the website, more of a cross between a skirt and a Bermuda shorts. I am not keeping them however, they are snug on the waist for my size 12: they do up and are fine but wonder if they would become uncomfortable when sitting down or eating a big meal.

I am also sending back the knitted linen cotton teeshirt dress in navy, on my body it is shapeless and does me no favours. I think you need that fine knit sweater it is styled with round the waist to give it some articulation: not for me.

I am also surprised to be sending back the gingham linen trousers in beetle green: they really appealed to me on the website but in reality they don’t feel very well cut and they have that gaping excess of fabric in the crotch that many Toast trousers seem to have.

Cricketduckout · 30/06/2026 20:55

Thank you all for the advice re selling.
I’m on Vinted so will have a go. I have a brand new toast maxi black skirt with labels on (!!) that is at least 15 years old so will dig that up to start!!

ellequick · 30/06/2026 21:31

Thanks so much @ToastCosILoveIt you've swung it for me - I’ve ordered it and really looking forward to trying it now!

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/06/2026 21:48

@ellequick , we’re all different and what suits one won’t necessarily tick another’s boxes, but I hope you love it as much as I do, a lovely, easy and flattering dress.

MsDastardley · 01/07/2026 13:29

New drop on website. Not ordered anything yet. A couple of dresses that I
like but not in stock for another couple of weeks. They are similar to ones I already have so will ponder on it!

PrincessofWills · 01/07/2026 13:41

@Cricketduckout I've also been selling on Vinted for a few years both as a seller and a buyer. It's been a very positive experience aside from two issues. One was my fault and I refunded including postage, and the other was I raised an issue as the wrong size was sent and Vinted found in my favour and refunded me.

I think the secret is ironed garments, showing all the Toast labels, and pricing it right. It's worthwhile putting half a dozen items on at a time as this generates traffic, and making sure the photos are clear, and the description complete.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/07/2026 14:13

My smoke cotton twill trousers arrived and I’m very pleased with them, ideal dog walking trousers. I don’t mind the 'rustle'.
My other parcel remains on its visit to Birmingham.
