Has anyone else received the Father’s Day fragrance gwp from CB? It never clarified what was in it but it put a value at £50. It contained a creed 1760 tiny sample card (1.5ml) and. Jo malone cypress and grapevine tiny sample (1.5ml). There is no way this has a value of £50! 🙄 these are the samples the SNK send with every order!

Yeah I'm returning it. Absolute con

Wow. That's misleading.

Oh gosh!! I saw it come up and I assume
there must be more stuff in the bag (I wasn’t trying to get it so I didn’t look too closely)

IDontHateRainbows · 12/06/2026 19:37

If nothing else, I got free delivery and added on a hair thing I wanted so I'll keep that. Will return the rest although it costs 2.99

MrsDahliaTravers · 12/06/2026 19:38

I complained about the Father's Day gift and they sent me a voucher for £10, but it's one I'd already received with my order 🙄

It really isn’t clear what is and what isn’t included. There are very few details apart from its free when you add 2 Father’s Day gifts but it’s not listed on the product pages. If you add 2 Marvis whitening toothpastes you will see it appears in your basket. But it absolutely isn’t worth buying products to get this gwp as it is just 2 tiny samples.

edited to add I can’t find a specifics link

Decent selection of samples on SNK today if anyone was waiting to pull the trigger on something…

@TragicMuse - my understanding, (albeit limited), is when you owe VAT on an overseas parcel, DPD or RM - whoever delivers the thing - are the ones who have to collect the VAT payment. They are then allowed to charge a handling fee on top!

It happened to DS1 once - he wasn’t happy- it was either pay £40 for the VAT and handling charge or not get his parcel.

I will be very interested to hear if @keepincool‘s parcel gets charged VAT with the associated handling charge, or if it doesn’t get flagged at point of entry therefore avoiding any charges at all. (If Customs think it’s a ‘gift worth less than £39’ then no VAT is payable.)

It’s so annoying that SK have stopped collecting VAT at point of sale. I wonder if they realise that UK customers also have to pay a handling fee to the carrier in addition to the VAT?

As far as I know there was no reason SK HAD to do this for UK customers. Perhaps it’s to do with the changes coming in for parcels to the EU from 1/7 - where duty will paid on all parcels regardless of worth. They were stopping paying VAT at source for EU customers so decided to include the UK in this for their own convenience!

keepincool · 13/06/2026 10:29

@IlovePond , my order is in Germany now, so I should find out if there are any extras to pay soon. My invoice says duties and taxes are included, with no additional charges on delivery. Duty was $7.18 on a $35.92 order, so 20% 🤞

Edited

Im really cheesed off, 2 tiny samples is not a cologne gift set worth £50.
I bought 2 x the ordinary toners to get it will just send back, irs not worth the hassle with cs.

Yes ill pay £3 delivery return costs but ita my fault for buying it when the contents weren't listed. Very suspicious in hindsight.

CBs revenge for the centella mask/ points debacle a while back. I made £40 in points off 4 centella masks @£2 each then.

IlovePond · 13/06/2026 11:09

I think you may be ok @keepincool as your order is under £35 - 🤞

Edited to say: It looks like SK took the VAT off as usual from your invoice. Maybe you just missed the change 🤷‍♀️

Btw: Did you have to pay shipping costs? When I first did a mock order yesterday, SK weren’t charging me shipping even on a very cheap order. When I went back on the site later, this had corrected to add $25 shipping.

Shipping on cheaper orders has also gone up since last week from $20! When I first ordered from them, shipping was only $10 🙀

Hope your parcel arrives ok, without extra charges!

keepincool · 13/06/2026 11:42

@IlovePond , my order would have been around £105, but i had lots of points and discounts which took it down to around £32. I still qualified for free shipping

Doglover73 · 13/06/2026 11:47

They also have a well being box for £50 which looks ok but I bought several of the boots ones

SummerLimes · 13/06/2026 12:39

That’s a very tempting offer @Doglover73

IlovePond · 13/06/2026 12:49

That’s brilliant @keepincool - I have noticed that SK honour the free shipping even when credit/points/vouchers take the total down to below the qualifying amount for free shipping. It’s very good CS on their part.

Addictedtobeauty · 13/06/2026 13:18

Delighted to say my 22nd May HN order turned up today. It was a lovely surprise (even though I ordered it and expected it weeks ago)- all the more so because I’d forgotten what I ordered and what was in the GWP.

Keep an eye on TK Maxx for The Rich Cream. That’s where I got it! It was £39.99 for 50ml and I’ve seen it pop up again since it first sold out.

And @Mejera Amazon have it (The Rich Cream) at £60, https://amzn.eu/d/05K58E4E

I wish they were as generous in-store!

I went to Jarrolds and got a refill of Trinny Elevator and got a couple of samples chucked in - most unexpected, so that was nice!

LightandBreezy · 13/06/2026 16:44

Ugh, I spoke too soon about having no problems with eBay - I order an MZ Skin eye cream and it turned up with a dent in the cream and like it had been smeared. I complained but the seller turned it round on me and accused me of saying there's an issue to scam them - they've refunded me but I'm really pissed off - I definitely adhere to the idea of eBay karma and wouldn't do that - it was cheap as chips anyway. I thought they were dodgy when I told them of the issue and they claimed they hadn't touched it "and I would not even know how to start using it" Errrrm it's a pot of cream, you don't have to be a genius to open a pot and stick your finger in it fgs.

Doglover73 · 13/06/2026 19:18

Awful. I believe in karma. Let's hope it bites them in the backside. Hard! Some people 🙄

user593 · 13/06/2026 20:03

The MZ Skin Calming Moisutiser is further marked down at TK Maxx, now £22.

ElizabethG81 · 13/06/2026 20:04

Am I the only one who loves snail mucin 😂🫣 The Cosrx one is probably one of the top 3 products I’ve ever used, wouldn’t be without it.

IlovePond · 13/06/2026 20:18

@ElizabethG81 - I disliked the idea of it and ignored all the snail products when I was in South Korea last year. However, recently I was ready to try it until I realised I might react to it due to being allergic to dust mites/dust.

I know lots of people who swear by it so it would’ve been interesting to try it!

Speaking of allergies:

I tried the GG serum today and immediately my scalp started stinging, so I quickly washed it all off.

I have been using the GG shampoo without any problems and the mask once, (been a bit reluctant to revisit the latter after someone on here had a bad reaction to it).

Has anyone here used the Grow Gorgeous serum, (the one in the small brown bottle)? Is it meant to be tingly?

Thanks
