Wedding guest dress help

I’m attending a wedding soon where my daughter is wearing this dusky pink dress as a flower girl. My son is wearing a little navy suit. My husband is planning navy to match.

I’m stuck on what colour dress for myself. If I go navy too will it look odd in pictures of the 4 of us? I’d appreciate any colour matching alternatives! I’m in my mid 30’s size 8 if it helps

Perhaps you could look for a print with colours that tie together the navy and the dusty pink? I hope your daughter has a wonderful time; she looks lovely in that dress.

Notsosweetcaroline · 30/05/2026 20:53

What about a pale blue? She looks lovely by the way, v cute.

LaliqueSaltGrinder · 30/05/2026 20:56

Serious question - why do you have to match?

Wallaroo21 · 30/05/2026 21:14

Thank you for the links, the first phase 8 one is lovely! Of course we don’t have to match, perhaps I should have phrased it as so we don’t clash. I’m hoping for some lovely family pictures.

This Ghost dress would pull the colours together.

Could you combine both colours - the navy & pink?
I’m not suggesting this particular dress as the answer, but this is an idea?

I also really like this but I feel like the colour is a bit random maybe https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/uk/p/a-and-f-emerson-puff-sleeve-lace-trim-midi-dress-62057320-1005

That was supposed to link the navy floral version

The navy and pink Hobbs one is really beautiful. The Abercrombie one feels a bit casual?

The navy one is very pretty!

My link went to the light blue one too! 🤷‍♀️

I think the Hobbs Bethany dress is the best of the lot, not too casual and exactly the right colours. But please don't wear it with red shoes, whatever was the stylist thinking?

This was my favourite.

It's a beautiful dress, lovely colour for summer, and not too 'matchy' with all the navy.

The Hobbs Bethany is my second favourite, but I think it might be a bit too much navy ...

I'm sure you'll look lovely whatever you wear! I hope you all have a fab day, and get some great family photos.

Wallaroo21 · 31/05/2026 08:34

Yes, I did think the Abercrombie maybe a bit casual. I think Hobbs Bethany is my favourite so far!

There must be a navy floral print dress that has a hint of dusky pink it it out there? That would look good on photo's of the 4 of you.

If not, how about a navy dress for yourself with dusky pink accessories?

Lampzade · 31/05/2026 18:21

The Hobbs one is lovely
It Is not dated in the slightest .

This is also my question.

I did answer this already in this very short thread. I’m not really sure why it’s such a strange suggestion for a family to look somewhat put together on an occasion where there will most likely be lots of photographs taken?

I suppose cos it was never a thing when I was young. Seems to be a new fad that I don't get.
