Wedding guest dress help

I’m attending a wedding soon where my daughter is wearing this dusky pink dress as a flower girl. My son is wearing a little navy suit. My husband is planning navy to match.

I’m stuck on what colour dress for myself. If I go navy too will it look odd in pictures of the 4 of us? I’d appreciate any colour matching alternatives! I’m in my mid 30’s size 8 if it helps

I suppose cos it was never a thing when I was young. Seems to be a new fad that I don't get.

To look nice in pictures?

I do get that if you want photos as a family at a special occasion that you wouldn't want mum and two teenage daughters all in clashing prints or something. But what I meant is that I wouldn't limit myself to navy/pink because that's what other people were wearing. I'd still consider something like mint green, or yellow, or another shade which is equal boldness (that is not a term but you know what I mean) to the dusky pink.

Honestly I think that Hobbs dress is a bit dated for someone in their 30s to wear. If you like it then I’d definitely be doing for hot pink or blush pink accessories, tan is a very casual colour and it won’t match the daintiness of the print and dress.

agree the Abercrombie dresses are far too casual, but beautiful.

Have you looked on Nobody’s Child? They are my go to for this sort of event and budget.

I do love nobody’s child, but none of the latest ones have stuck out to me. I ideally want to wear a typical bra with it which restricts it slightly.

Yes, I did say I was open to other colour suggestions. I just want to look nice all together.

But people can look nice in pictures in any colour. Just avoid white like the bride and black like a funeral.

The Hobbs dress is perfect .
I would go for that .

I would be cautious of looking like you’re trying to be part of the bridal party by matching the flower girl dress. If I was you I would go for a completely different colour as presumably the bridesmaids will be in that pink colour or similar.

I did question the groom on colours and he said it was fine to wear similar to match her. I think as she’s young I may end up walking with her down the aisle. But I don’t want to look like a bridesmaid definitely no!

I have this exact dress to wear to a wedding later this month. It's very flattering to wear and I have managed to find the holy grail of comfortable but flattering sandals to go with it!

If pink suits you, I'd go for a pink that is a couple of shades above or below your daughter's pink or a floral dress with blues and the same colour pink as your daughter's.
