Horrible cropped very wide trousers or jeans. Especially on small women. But really on any sized women. Do you want to make your legs look shorter?????

SailingYachty · 25/05/2026 16:26

The skintight all in one legging/shorts and top combo

ruethewhirl · 25/05/2026 16:26

Shirtless men. Grim.

scalt · 25/05/2026 16:27

Nobody has said trainers without socks - is this ok then? It’s what we did in the 90s in summer, while today’s youth wear socks and sliders.

And I still wear my trainers sockless in summer; although I try to wear airy mesh ones.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/05/2026 16:27

Fat bellies with crop tops. FFS cover it up!

I don’t know why, as soon as we have any proper summer weather, much of the Great British Public seems to think it’s compulsory to display as much of their too often pallid, flabby flesh as possible.

I know one woman who rocks that look but she's basically a beautiful version of Olive Oyl. She can lose a few inches off her legs and still looks like a gazelle.

Crocs

AImportantMermaid · 25/05/2026 16:28

Butt munch shorts - that’s a sweaty mess waiting to happen.

Girlintheframe · 25/05/2026 16:28

Definitely shirtless men! Beyond grim unless your at the beach/pool

ThreeDaysinJune · 25/05/2026 16:28

Men: wandering around shirtless
Women: showing too much flesh

You can take my linen out of my cold dead hands 🤣

Well to be fair, a shroud is the only acceptable form of linen outfit 😁

Socks with flip flops.
🤮

Is it not the catwalk look nowadays? Socks with flipo-flopo and socks with sandals? Russell and Bromley, before they went bankrupt, were also pushing this look?
Edited to add: there are even special Japanese socks for flip-flops, no? White socks as well!!!!

Not just summer garb, but what is this type of lycra leggins which show every bit of anatomy, you can even SEE cellulite in them?

Saw someone wearing exactly this look the other day. I am all for wearing what you want, having body confidence and wish that I had it as I dress to cover up the bits I don't like. Saw this girl in thin beige leggings that clung to every fold and curve of her body and her cellulite was highlighted by the tightness and colour of the fabric. In a sense I thought "good for you" as I would not have dared leave the house dressed like that.

Socks with sandals is my dad at the beach in 1968.

So many votes for shirtless men! (Me too). I wonder if they have any idea how repulsive we find it 😂 They probably do but don’t care. I’m often surprised by how much confidence very average- looking men seem to have.

I will add: thong bikinis in the wrong contexts. I daresay it’s de rigeur at an adults-only beach club in Ibiza, or if you are at a swingers event, but on regular beaches or poolsides, I don’t really want to see anyone’s bare arse cheeks, even if they are nice arse cheeks, and I definitely don’t want any to see them walking along the prom or standing at the ice cream counter.

I was once climbing some steps at some waterfalls directly behind a young woman wearing a thong bikini. 🤢 (Yes I obviously waited for her to climb ahead).

When did feet start being a thing that people dislike? I'm over 50 and for me it's only in the last 10 years.

Always, I used to have socks on in bed as a child. 😂

Hard work for just ONE but those leggings that are stitched to make it look as though they're scrunched up the arse for intentional wedgie are repulsive.

Definitely this. Plus those flesh coloured leggings, usually worn with a darker coloured top or jacket, that make you do a double take, as from a distance, they look like they've got nothing on their bottom half. My eyes.

Birkenstocks

Leave my Birkenstocks alone, they are the most comfortable sandals in the world.

ICameISawIPlanked · 25/05/2026 16:34

Billowy midi/ maxi dresses that could double up as the main tent at Glastonbury.

BeardofHagrid · 25/05/2026 16:34

3/4 length leggings and leggings with a dress
(Sorry if that hurts anyone’s feelings, I’m certainly not a looker myself)

NoraLuka · 25/05/2026 16:35

Any kind of thong bikini/swimming costume, bleurgh.

Those who think they are the fashion police on something that has no impact on them.

Thank you sweetheart

I feel like I am going to faint when I see people encased in seamed denim in this weather.
