Are we now into summer clothes season? Have you done your wardrobe swap?

It’s gorgeous and sunnny here. I just did my wardrobe swap. A pretty unexciting affair which involves moving tweed, velvet and roll necks out and short sleeve blouses, shorts and sundresses in. Apologies if this brings on a spell of unexpected dreadful weather.

Are people out and about in summer clothes where you are? Cambridge yesterday was a weird mix of barn jackets, beanies, shorts and sandals.

I’m meeting a friend for lunch in Central London today and really want to dig out the off white silk/linen trousers I’ve been yearning to wear (with a light navy knit) but am still a bit traumatised by going to Westfield last early summer in a pastel shirt dress and truly not understanding how every other man, woman and child knew still to wear jeans.

What are we thinking?

I'll wash my winter sweaters this weekend.

I'm sitting here in a sleeveless dress.

Finally !! 😎

I don't have summer clothes because my legs are ugly so I now spend the summer avoiding going out or just being boiling. I did try maxi skirts last year but I just tripped over all the time on the hems.

There are loads of lightweight summer trousers in the shops right now.

I can just never get the length right. They're either massive or stop at the ankle and make you look stupid. I did buy some lightweight tencel style ones from primark and when I got them home realised they are a foot too long.

Nope, in the north west and it was 8 degrees yesterday. Made the mistake of taking a denim jacket. In to work, freezing.

Or too small a wardrobe 😁

I just have one standard wardrobe - with two narrow doors - and all my clothes fit in there now. Years ago, I stored winter/ summer clothes separately and had to swap them around twice a year which was a hassle. Then Marie Kondo came along and it changed my way of thinking. I got rid of piles of clothes and haven’t regretted it - it has made life so much easier!

Everything just stays in my wardrobe all year round. If you have to do a wardrobe swap, you probably have too many clothes.

Or limited storage/wardrobe space
