Recommendations for comfortable holiday sandals

Hi, I'm sick of going on holiday and getting sore feet, flip flops cut inside my toes and sliders/sandals rub the side of my feet. Can anyone recommend comfortable sandals that still look nice if I was going out at night for dinner. Thanks.

Oh I also got knock off plastic birkies in a local boutique (I have the real ones too). Super comfy.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 14/04/2026 09:24

They’re pretty.

I have tevas Birkenstocks and fatfsce leather sandals

tevas win hands down for comfort. I can walk miles in them. I have the originals but they now do a slim which is less sporty and a scrappy version whch. Birkinstock have lasted as well as I hoped. The fat face are nice for an even g out and I wear them at work on hot days.

They have all lasted many years of heavy wear
what ever you buy you need to wear in. But they will last you!

I LOVE tevas!

But they are just soo ugly. And look like toddler shoes.

why can’t something be stylish and comfortable

teva Elle backstrap. Simple and incredibly comfortable.

Definitely check out the Josef Seibel website, I've found every style I've tried, comfortable and hard wearing.

Hotter Tourist 2 sandals are super comfy

As I wrote upthread @IWaffleAlotSkechers wedge sandals with a few sequins are reasonably glamourous.
The Style Police might not say so though. 😀

Nowvoyager99 · 14/04/2026 18:37

Another vote for Birkenstocks.

deeahgwitch · 14/04/2026 19:18

I can’t wear Birkenstocks.
The footbed just doesn’t suit the shape of my feet and my long toes.

Agree ... I find most of these suggestions on the ugly side ... I do like Birkenstocks though, plus the several pairs of Whistles flatform-style sandals I have (black, navy, cream, tan, gold & silver!). The ones with Velcro are especially comfy for long walks.

Have a look at Nokwol, their sandals and slides are such soft leather.

I live in Saltwater sandals in the summer, can walk for miles in them

I got some plain Tevas, similar to these. They are so comfortable and tidy enough for restaurants

I love my Tevas.

history505 · 15/04/2026 06:57

I don’t get the Saltwater love. I have the thicker soled ones and find them so hard.

Sueandthegoldfish · 15/04/2026 19:43

I live in either my Dr Marten sandals (kids size 4 🙄) or Sketchers walking sandals.

Koulibiak · 15/04/2026 20:23

I have had multiple pairs of Hush Puppies sandals, and DD (17) also has them. They are very comfortable- I have bunions and she has very narrow feet, and we both like them. They are not the most stylish - no one will think you’re wearing Manolos - but they are inoffensive. I like the fact they don’t need breaking in - never a blister from the get go. They’re on Amazon and frequently discounted. They don’t last super long - a couple of summers at most if you’re a semi-serious walker - but I’ve done 25,000 steps a day in them with no problem. More durable than Clark’s, more stylish than Skechers/Hotter/Teva/Fitflop (in my view of course), and cheaper than any of them.

Loved saltwater but knackered feet have put paid to that..
Keen Rosie for wide feet look better in!
Fit flop but inconsistent fitting width wise so would suggest trying a few
Birkenstock if you can get on with them I need a back strap so only a few styles work
