Anyone bought from Unfolded?

Unfolded keeps popping up on various social media sites and a few of their dresses look good for an upcoming holiday 🤔

Can anyone say what the sizing and quality are like? 🤔

I bought a dress in their archive sale and it fits lovely. I bought size 12 and would say I am 12/14 and it is perfect. Nice length and good across the bust.
I like their ethos of making to wear rather than over production and the fabric seems a very good quality. I
tepmpted by some of their other bits but it’s not cheap!

@Ohshitiveturnedintomymother Thank you ☺️ Yes I was drawn in by the fact that it’s not over produced! Was hoping to hear that the fabric seems good quality so I’ll maybe order and give one a try ☺️👍🏻

I bought one last summer. The fabric is very nice and swishy, but I found the dress slightly too low cut on me to wear for everyday. ( This is not unusual for me, I am short-waisted and my cleavage starts quite high up.) It was also on the tight side around the bust. Anywhere else I'd say order 2 sizes and see which works best for you, but returns are tricky. They are very helpful though, so if you can establish the correct size by checking measurements carefully you should be OK.

TheDogsMother · 05/04/2026 01:05

Yes I did. Unfortunately I found it very unflattering so it’s still hanging in the wardrobe unworn.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 05/04/2026 06:29

I bought one from an archive sale and ended up returning it. The fit was slightly small, but the main reason I returned was that it felt and looked cheap. Really unimpressed to be honest, I had been pondering for ages seeing all their social media advertising but it’s just the same old polyester crap that you get on the high street

Yes I was equally unimpressed sadly - never worn it and it’s just hanging in my wardrobe now 😩

Maternityleavelady · 05/04/2026 06:41

I am someone who returns 90% of clothes I order as my body proportions are unusual so it’s hard to find things that fit well. Predictably, the Unfolded dress I ordered didn’t fit and I sold it through their Facebook group at a massive loss. Wouldn’t bother again

TeaAndToastedCrumpets · 05/04/2026 11:28

I really like their business model and ethos so have bought various items over the last few years to try (either discounted on the website or through the fb group/ebay/vinted). Nothing has wowed me and tbh the quality does not match the full price. The fabric on some of the items are thin and crease easily (not in a lived-in sort of way). Sizing is TTC for items with stretch or if boxy/oversized, otherwise can be on the small side.

cursive · 05/04/2026 11:37

I regularly get enchanted by the ads, then I look at the fabric composition, and it’s synthetic. I will never knowingly buy another synthetic garment other than sportswear or undies.

Glenthebattleostrich · 05/04/2026 11:41

I love their trousers. Cant wear their dresses unfortunately as they are not made for ladies large of boobage!

Fabrics vary but i find them nice quality and reasonable for the amount of wear, especually with discount codes

NedsAtomicWheelieBin · 05/04/2026 12:12

Oh poo, I’ve ordered two dresses and still have a month to go before they are delivered. Disappointed to see these comments (although I did start a thread of my own at the time that seemed a lot more positive!)

Edited to ask: why do some people sell them off on FB or Vinted rather than return them?

ThePoshUns · 05/04/2026 12:18

I don’t think you can return them unless someone else will buy it, I think is their policy?

Piggywaspushed · 05/04/2026 12:19

I have bought two dresses. One is lovely but, as per a PP, low cut . The other was horrible in many ways.

Be aware , OP, that my order took 9 weeks to arrive, too late for the graduation I bought it for. That, at least, was the horrible dress. Had to sell that on Vinted at a huge loss.

ChilledProsecco · 05/04/2026 12:26

Yes, I bought a dress, which is a good fit, true to size & I liked the shorter length option as someone who is 5’1”.

The only downside was the wait - around 6 weeks.

Mintyt · 05/04/2026 12:31

Yes I did a denim dress. It was too stiff for me but really lovely, contacted them and an easy return and refund, they do offer an exchange too which is better than purchasing again and waiting for a refund

I don't like the dresses. In theory they should have some appeal but there's something missing.

Aside from that I really dislike their website and marketing approach. The Every item is designed with help from 15,000+ members of our community. is clearly vastly over egging.

This item funds a child in education for 2 months with no details given. And calling children "kids" - hate that.

The completely meaningless comparison with "High Street rrp"

The materials are cotton or viscose but there's a huge range in quality of cotton and viscose and theirs look at the supermarket end than higher end (that's not a criticism of supermarket clothes).

I bang on about Palava and Colenimo on here. They are genuinely ethical companies whose clothes are made in the UK. Their dresses are in the £180 to £220 range. Or there's Community Clothing, also made in UK, and around £90 to £110. All of them look far better made and better quality.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 05/04/2026 12:42

I like their linen trousers.

Summerhillsquare · 05/04/2026 12:58

Yes, at one of their pop up shops I bought a cotton cord dress, it's pretty well made. I tried on plenty of others which also fitted well: sensible length sleeves and good for larger boobs.

travailtotravel · 05/04/2026 14:04

Oh no! I am waiting for one to be delivered that I ordered in January and while I like the ethos, that is just too long to wait. I had not realised that returns would be quite so tricky (I am a tricky size) so I am anticipating disappointment now as I only ordered one size (for obvious reasons) and probably went too small! Oh well, lets see when it arrives. Potentially expensive mistake, though.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 05/04/2026 14:16

Bought a cotton summer dress last year with a metallic print pattern. The fabric was really cheap and scratchy even after washing, there wasn’t enough fabric in the skirt so I was a bit hobbled in how far I could step out and overall it was cut too tight in the wrong spots so getting it on and off felt like I’d rip the fabric even though it was my size. I gave it away.

They can't refuse returns if you send items back in the same condition within the statutory time limits.

BeenChangedForGood · 06/04/2026 07:55

Thank you all 🫠 I think I’ll maybe avoid it - sounds like more hassle than it’s worth to be honest! Was just looking for a couple of casual dresses for an upcoming holiday but sounds like I’ll have better luck elsewhere ☺️

Unfortunately yes I have bought from them. Had I read the reviews for the trousers I bought I would have known that the sizing wasn’t correct and that they wouldn’t fit. I’ve never had this problem with another brand.

Can’t get a refund, it seems impossible which seems unfair when it’s their sizing that’s at fault.

Will never order again from them.

They are breaking the law if they refuse refunds. If you return unused goods in the same condition within the returns period they must refund you. Refunds for goods bought online in the UK are not optional.

TeeBee · 06/04/2026 10:12

I bought one. I didn’t realise quite how long it would take to arrive. Summer came and went so now I have a dress that say in the wardrobe all through winter. It fits fine (I have a large bust and it still looks nice enough). Hangs nicely and has pockets. Fabric is flimsy but okay for summer. Don’t think I’d order again though because by the time it takes to arrive requires so much forethought. You need to order well ahead of the season.
