What to wear over this (it's a wedding one)?

Just that, really... I'm planning to wear this dress (photo below, hopefully) but the wedding is in early May (UK) and I'll need something to keep me warm... I'm thinking a pashmina-type thing of some sort in a plain colour that picks out one of the embroidered flowers...? Are there any other decent options? My budget is small, ideally less than £50 but if there's something versatile around I could stretch a point.

The dress choice is fixed, so please don't mention it if you think it's hideous. 😁

Please help!

I recently inherited a stash of silver broaches. They were my DMs bought during the 80s. I did a little research on them and they were all Ola Gorie broaches, some still in production and to replace them would cost £300-500 each.

I realised that my DM was a very stylish dresser, she was an incredibly talented dressmakers and tailor. To me she was just my mum that dressed smartly and a bit differently. I have recently been collecting classic pieces of clothing and experimenting again. It’s funny how you tend to blend in and conform with mums at the school gate. I also wear scrubs at work so have sort of lost my style.

I have a couple of lovely winter coats I intend to use the broaches with.

Have a look for Sarah Pacino linen lacework edge to edge cardigans on Vinted. They are much less granny and would go well with the dress you have chosen.
A cashmere wrap ( knitted) would be warmer than a pashmina.

You do of course still get them, but the only person I’ve ever seen wearing one of late is Nicola Sturgeon

You've not been looking very far if that's the case ... They're not even just being worn by women - every guy at the Oscars was wearing some sort of brooch. And they're not just being worn on lapels either!!

Not that I have ever stopped wearing my favourites anyway - I just change how i wear them every so often.
