Do you have an outfit (or two) you feel amazing in?

I’ve just taken delivery of yet another pair of ‘meh’ jeans (going back) and it’s got me thinking about outfits that feel amazing. The ones that really boost confidence, not necessarily for a special occasion, more for everyday. I’ve got some lovely clothes (I buy good quality, in just a few colours and keep for years) but just a few outfits that feel really spot on.

Mine are:

A pair of petrol blue wool and linen culottes from Poetry, with taupe suede boots and a cream silk shirt bought for a small fortune from the Kooples in Paris- I suspect it mostly works because the charming shop assistant flattered me to death into buying it.

A tan suede mini skirt with a cream cashmere short sleeve sweater and taupe ankle boots, with big hoop earrings. With an olive trench on top.

Wide leg jeans with a cream linen t-shirt and sneakers. Last year my daughter told me I looked like Velma from Scooby Doo so I like it even more now.

Khaki cotton lightweight shorts with a white cotton popover blouse and tan sandals.

A black faded linen dress with big gold hoops, tan sandals. I look terrible in stark black but black faded linen and a light tan feels sophisticated, even on me.

As you can probably tell, my wardrobe is where fashion goes to die. But I’m older now, and now what I like so, who cares?!

I’ve had variations of the same favourite outfit since I was about 14
A white fitted tee- sometimes slightly cropped some times not and blue wide legged jeans. I can’t find an outfit more flattering or I like more

It is, yes, although mine is a much lighter colour (hence attracts dirt). I love the shade of the one you linked, though, and now I'm tempted to get mine a friend...

(Off topic but someone was commenting earlier on another thread about how ridiculous we looked in the early 00s styling our skirts over trousers. Interesting that Harrods have done that with this piece in some of the pictures. I don't think I'll be wearing mine like that, but on the model I actually don't hate it...)

I’m loving reading about these different outfits. And am living my best fashion life vicariously alongside the more adventurous dressers.

It’s a reminder not to settle for ‘meh’ clothes, and not to save the good stuff for best. Today I spent a long drive in bank holiday traffic in a cream cashmere cropped cardigan and pearl earrings and felt damned good!

I’ve always liked dresses and skirts over trousers.

I have quite a few! I try not to keep anything that makes me feel meh and I don't buy or keep anything that makes me feel horrible

Same here, just about everything I own. I wouldn't buy it in the first place if it didn't feel amazing.

I love all my clothes, that's the problem because I have way too many and can't get rid of anything.

I bought this last summer - got so many compliments every time I wore it. Can't wait for the summer to arrive so i can start wearing it again 🙂

Your work wear sounds glorious! Where do you tend to get your clothes from? Especially the amazing sounding dress?

I rely on a good coat…I have many. I look great till I take them off

Through winter all my clothes are meh 😔 summer is where all my nice things come out, i have lots of lovely dresses/ playsuits and jumpsuits, sandals, boots etc but they are all summer wear (i know boots can be worn in the winter but i don’t like them to get wet haha) my winter clothes consists of leggings and hoodies 😂 xx

Nothing beats a nice dress for me, but most recently the NFD Lindos dresses. I am always on the hunt for them.

Thank you @Squatsandsnacks! Dress is from Wiggy Kit. Otherwise suits and silk blouses are usually from The Fold, shoes are random brands but I do a lot of work trips to Milan so often stock up there. I also have a soft spot for skirts from Emilia Wickstead and the odd piece from M&S. Vintage is often from Etsy.

I have a couple of Lucy and Yak jumpsuits that I love - one denim and one leopard skin which I wear with a shiny Dr M bag 💙

I have this and wear it a lot with tan suede knee length boots .
i think the colours suit me , it covers a multitude of sins and leaves space for a big dinner 😉 .
It sits on the knee on me .
I’m quite small but have a decent size bust somehow this doesn’t make them look big ??

Is this true to size? Maybe it’s meant to be oversized, never bought from here before but some lovely items

No I feel better when I’m slimmer as everything looks better. At the moment I look sloppy in everything.

I’m a petite 10/12 and the 10 fits nicely in the shoulders .

Autumn/winter.

Summer.
Either white wide leg linen trousers and a gold Reiss vest or a monsoon, midaxi hippie dress. Both look great on holiday.

A shirt from wise - black background with bright small flowers and nipped shoulders. Love it - bought 4 years ago and I must have worn it 70 times. A very fitted long dress from Whistles with a fluted bottom. It’s a plain cotton but super elegant so it feels gorgeous.
