Anyone seen any lovely wedding guest appropriate dresses in the shops?

Anyone seen any simple, pretty, NOT backless or strappy or super tight or frilly or dowdy dresses suitable for a wedding guest? Seems a real dearth at the moment. All I want is to wear a bra without it showing, and a simple, chic dress that isn't burgundy, black, brown khaki or otherwise sludge coloured!

This one is closer to your budget? Do you want something plain? Not sure if you're ruling all patterns out - or just florals - or just ditsy florals??!!!

It's not pale though. Do you mean pastels ie pale pink/yellow/blue/green??

What are you thinking re footwear/jacket etc - as April could be bloody Baltic/peeing it down?!!! Are you at the whole day?

I actually really like this. Is it a bit office for a wedding?!

I just bought this for my brothers wedding in the summer. Adrianna Pappell - they have some lovely dresses and sell through Next, John Lewis etc.

This is lovely but too glam for me!

If you like pale blue, & would prefer full arm coverage? I think this could work well as an April wedding guest dress with the right accessories?

I don't think so! I wouldn't consider satin as workwear - even in my wear-anything-goes days!

I think it's more classic (& classy) with a twist - the fabric & the waist detail lift it out of the ordinary. Plus it's a lovely inky teal-blue/green, rather than navy, which is also a bit different. And you can make it pretty glam with your accessories. Are you planning to pretend it's warm weather, no matter what, & wear sandals & bare legs ...? Or heeled shoes? As you could even wear navy/blue polka dot tights with it which would look good?

It's also on the Next website in red for £95 ...

Reiss are great but you can go on Vinted and get a fab Reiss dress, I’d personally avoid anything brown with polka dots as are everywhere in the shops right now and I haw feeling people will all be matching.

Mayberry French connection and Boden had some nice ones the other day, so me me+em but I’d go on Vibted and buy a few seasons old to avoid the same dress.

Possibilities on The Outnet, believe it or not ...

... this Olivia Rubin dress is lovely. And if you look at the "what to wear it with" suggestions below, no-one would consider it workwear!!! Though the accessories do come to another £1,445 ... 😀!!!

Yes there are ruffles, but minimal as a trim, & with a pale subtle check not the usual florals.

If you like & suit pale green, this Ganni taffeta one could look good? (Ignore their styling 😀!!)

You can go on Vinted/eBay etc & get loads of expensive dresses for much less - depends on whether the OP is willing to take that risk though?? I would - I buy almost all my clothes that way!! But I know what labels I like, & what suits & fits me, so generally don't take that much of a risk.

There is a Reiss eBay shop though, which means you can return items. They might have something suitable.

I'm less of a fan of the Rixo bias-cut dresses, but I think this kimono-style one is gorgeous. And a bargain. Not ditsy either. Though nor is it pale!

Would you wear halterneck, or not? Or sleeveless? Or just short/long sleeves?
