Am I too old for this bikini?

I really love this bikini. I’ve been on mounjaro.
Gotten down to a size 8 and I’ve been really fortunate not to have excessive loose skin. My tummy is a little crinkled around the belly button though. I don’t have much of a chest anymore. I’m 46. I do have a tan skin which I think helps with the skin texture a bit.

What do you think? I really don’t want to wear a similar style to my mum yet 😂 and hate patterns. My husband says buy whatever I like, but I’m so hesitant, despite loving it.

Are you very small of bosom? That’s the only thing that would put me off. Those straps won’t cope with more than an A cup.

Newthreadnewme11 · 20/03/2026 22:16

If you feel confident wearing it and you love it then you should buy it. I’m 45 y/o woman, fwiw.

After my weight loss, I don’t have much of a bosom at all.

I love the style though not a fan of brown but that's just personal preference. Where's it from? I'm 48 and a size 10/12 and would wear it. So no, I don't think you're too old.

(Also enjoying the use of 'bosom')

BauhausOfEliott · 20/03/2026 22:29

Being ‘too old’ for bikini isn’t a thing. Do it!

Denim4ever · 20/03/2026 22:39

I like it. I'm a 60+ surfer and that's my kinda low tech bikini.

Regarding the straps, a lot of bras and bralets have similar and give support enough so it would be same with bikini.

ForeverAPuppy · 20/03/2026 22:43

It’s a very basic bikini so I don’t think you can be too old for it. I like it. I’m your age and would wear it.

TenThousandSpoons · 20/03/2026 22:44

Go for it - not too old for this style.

ChickpeaCauliflowerSalad · 20/03/2026 22:50

If you're tan it might look like you're wearing nothing but some neon lines 🤣

it looks like a comfortable bikini, if it fit me like it fits her I'd wear it and I'm 57.

If it fit me like it fits her I probably wouldn't wear clothes ever again to be fair!! 🤣🤣🤣

Bumcake · 20/03/2026 23:01

Not too old, get it!

It’s from CUPSHE. I have bought from them before and I’ve always found them to be quite flattering.

Oh dear…. That’s a thought.
But yes, I agree. I wish I had a body like hers!

Well, I am now the proud owner of the bikini in the picture. At least, I will be when it arrives.

Thank you all for your input. I managed to get a 25% discount code from doing a Google search so I think I only paid about £24 for including delivery. If I don’t like it, it’s not the end of the world and it can probably go back.

It's quite ageless/timeless in design I think, it's nice. Wear, enjoy!

Spendysis · 20/03/2026 23:26

No not at all providing it’s comfortable and gives you support in the bust if needed I am 48 flat chested so support isn’t needed and I would wear it

Snippit · 20/03/2026 23:29

It’s lovely, I’m 59 and wear a size 12, I’d definitely wear it. My motto is there’s always worse than me out there, and there is. Although, just got back from Tenerife and wore my bikini for one day only, shocking weather and even worse since returning home, it’s a topsy turvy world 🤷‍♀️

It’s really weird. When I was a lot bigger, I used to think everybody was looking at me judging. Now I’ve lost weight I realise that nobody cares. I don’t look at other people at all really, let alone to judge. You just don’t notice people, do you. And if you do notice somebody, it’s normally because they look great regardless of their size.

I was the same i went from a 14 to a size 8 very toned indeed that was many many years ago.
And id never put a bikini on i was to shy no confidence, now 20 odd year later im back to a 14 plus lol, and i love it because i learned to love me and all my wobbly bits.
Maybe its an age thing but i really dont care what others think now, enjoy life wear what you want while you can.

If i want to wear a panda swim suit with ears and goggles i will.

loveyouradvice · 21/03/2026 00:01

It's a very lovely bikini and it sounds as if you will look gorgeous in it: Enjoy your new figure!! I've realised that it is only the Brits who are so strange about age and bikinis. Everywhere you go in Europe, there are grannies wearing bikinis and totally unphased by their bodies.

I am now 65 and the owner of three different beautiful bikinis which I wore daily on a recent holiday... I was hesitant when I bought my first one three years ago, but have worn it so much it's literally disintegrated. I do have an hourglass figure so one friend comments that I look better in a bikini than a swimsuit as it shows off my curves. And I realise I chose bikinis that cover rather more than they would in my 20s, and give me good support.

It's hugely liberating .. and I say that as a woman who did not wear a bikini in her 40s and 50s, far too inhibited... and now I wear mine with pure joy!

DeftGoldHedgehog · 21/03/2026 00:41

Of course not. Even at a size 14/16 I preferred a more sporty looking bikini.

I wish I was like this. I haves so much wrong in my head and now I have a skin disorder and am so self conscious. I wish id appreciated my skin before it got bad. I hated myself for being pale
