I really like the red one and strapy one. Not keen on the one with crabs because of the shape.

Cherrytree86 · 18/03/2026 09:51

They are rank

brightnails · 18/03/2026 10:13

didn’t see any of that in the Côte d’Azur

VenusClapTrap · 18/03/2026 10:20

I like them. But then I nearly bought this jumper dress with lobsters on the sleeves; unfortunately I’m very short and don’t suit maxi length dresses.

It’s a bit jaunty for me 🤣 Like the clothing equivalent of making big earrings take the place of a personality. A bit ‘ooh I’m ever so quirky, me’.

But then I don’t wear anything patterned so I think my take is probably a bit extreme.

Notmymarmosets · 18/03/2026 10:26

I find them 'of the moment' rather than witty. Like when every was wearing pinapples or moustaches on clothing.

corblimeyguvnr · 18/03/2026 10:28

This trend has been on the go for a while now - especially last year. I thought it had died a death but see a bit of resurgence. Next seem to like this stuff .

MaggieBsBoat · 18/03/2026 10:28

Love. Them.

CaptainMyCaptain · 18/03/2026 10:30

I like them.

outerspacepotato · 18/03/2026 10:31

Trendy. I've seen some knit sweater patterns with fish swimming around lately.

BelleEpoque27 · 18/03/2026 11:31

I quite like them, but also think they look like a 'fun' Boden print. Definitely not chic or French feeling, the French would never. But I quite like some 'fun' Boden prints, especially seasidey ones, so that's fine.

It's a change from the desperately dull plain neutrals in every shop, at least. I love a print.

ThankFuckTheSunIsHere · 18/03/2026 12:31

Accept it’s not strictly “French” as such - am a very visual person and the imaging around such dresses is putting me in mind of someone wafting around a French market with a huge wicker basket 🤣

Good point about “fun” Boden prints @BelleEpoque27!! This is off putting 😕

Now I DO love a big earring! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have one that is blue with white sardines. Love it and get lots of compliments…especially from Americans.

This comment makes me feel
conflicted! 🤣

I think the one colour is probably best. Less “Jazzy” if you will.

Definitely a nautical theme going on!

I actually really love the style and colours of the first one - blue sardines with red trim! But, it’s a pity it looks as though “sardines” is spelled incorrectly across the top?! It reads SRADINES.

Purplecatshopaholic · 18/03/2026 13:25

Laiste · 18/03/2026 09:44

I've got a china cat food bowl with sardines swimming round the outside so no - i'd feel i was dressed like the cat bowl.

Just thinking that. They are not my style but even if I did like the print I think I would be nervous of being gnawed by my cats, lol.

ihatecatlitter · 18/03/2026 13:29

Oh gosh yes I didn’t see the spelling error on the first one. That’s a bit embarrassing. Like when my friend bought some fake Levi’s in Thailand and they said Evil instead of Levi.

PineappleCoconut · 18/03/2026 13:35

It’s Shein but very similar to the stuff Next is doing at the moment. Massive bold fruit or seaside theme prints. They remind me of toddlers story time dressing up, or French ‘chic’ in the style of a Breton top, beret and string of onions.

It could be fun, holiday, I’ve had too many cocktails vibe, in the same way I like a Christmas jumper. But for everyday normal life wear, no.

Nicecatneighbour · 18/03/2026 13:36

Along the bottom it says "forever sardines". 🫣 I don't think I'll buy it.

CornishPorsche · 18/03/2026 13:36

These designs have been on Shein since last summer....

wishingonastar101 · 18/03/2026 14:01

I have seen a lot of Sardine / tinned fish themes and patterns. Cute on a pencil pot, tea towel or little make up bag - but personally too much on a dress.

I can not imagine a French woman wearing a dress covering in massive fish prints.

AncientBallerina · 18/03/2026 14:05

I’d only consider it on a sunny day at seaside destination but would prefer discreet lobsters 😄
