Looking Good I Like It GIF by VisionExpress

...if you do anything either at home or in salon beyond mascara?

mother nature/peri has taken my previously dark lashes and replaced them with sad, short, straight little imposters.

I don't know what options are out there as I've been running around after young dc for the last era of my life.

helppppp, I am already tired ....but the lash situation makes me look like a mole emerging mistakenly into the sunlight - see actual footage attached

I use Lola's lol lashes. The are pre glued clusters & stay on about 5 days. It took me a couple of goes to really get it tight but they are fabulous once you do. I find the shorter ones stay on better (& at my age I don't want ridiculous lashes) as I'm a side sleeper.
I use the 8 or 10mm ones.

LethargeMarg · 12/03/2026 16:29

I get eyelash extensions which is a fairly recent thing since menopause hit and needed a boost. They look great for about two weeks then the last week patchy and a bit bald but I get them done every three weeks and the third week I can cope with (im also bad at picking at them, if I could leave them alone they’d probably last longer)

Wonderknicks · 12/03/2026 16:37

Lash extensions lasted about the same amount of time as Lola's for me, and absolutely knackered my own eye lashes.

Gizlotsmum · 12/03/2026 16:39

I get lash extensions and brows laminated. I get lashes done every 2-3 weeks and brows laminated every 6 weeks with a tidy in between. Makes such a difference and I don’t have massively long extensions ( mine are called classics)

BrickPoster · 12/03/2026 16:42

Lash lift and tint all the way! Even if your lashes are short it makes a difference.

I get an eyebrow wax and tint too, makes me feel a bit more put together.

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 12/03/2026 16:45

Lash serum here, for the longer game. I use the UK Lash white tube, which has no prostaglandins, and has made a huge difference.

(Revitalash, which does contain them, gave me huge dark circles under my eyes, and can cause other issues too.)

SliceofTosst · 12/03/2026 16:54

UK Lash serum. Brought my pale stubs back to life. Amazing stuff. I also get them tinted at a salon every 6 weeks. Blue black is the darkest and looks so good.

the prostagladins are the thing that worried me about other serums, I have greenish eyes and would rather they didn't change colour
(as I heard happens sometimes with those ones? Not sure if it's true)

UKLASH serum (black tube). It does contain prostaglandin but didn't give me any side effects unlike revitalash which made my lashes grown an insane amount butgave me dark skin around my eyes. Neither of them changed my eye colour though.

The uklash serum with peptides (white tube) has made no difference at all to the length of my lashes so I'm going back to the black tube now.

Could I ask please if giving up
Revitalash made the darkened skin improve in time ? I think it has started to give me dark circles so I’ve stopped using it this week

Yes, went for me fairly quickly when I stopped using it.

AlllPanicNoDisco · 12/03/2026 17:19

Lash serum and a curler will help massively. I also have short straight lashes and I use UK Lash most nights and one of the electric curlers that look like a mascara wand which you can get off Amazon for about £15

Vicliz24 · 12/03/2026 17:22

I use castor oil at bedtime. DAB IG into my lash line and put any excess on my eyebrows. It definitely thickens them back up after menopause.

mommybear1 · 12/03/2026 17:28

I am a recent convert to Lola’s Lashes. I used Rapid Lash previously and became allergic I tried other serums without success. The Lola’s Lashes have been amazing like pp I use the short 8mm/10mm as I don’t want them to look false - they have just made mine look more full. DH has noticed and one other person, both have said they look natural. Work colleagues just think I’ve got mascara on. No damage to my own lashes and I can get 5/7 days out of them. Highly recommend.

Disturbia81 · 12/03/2026 17:28

I used lolas lashes, a magnetic pair last me about 6 months and cost £14. I wear them every day and my eyes look massive!

tealandteal · 12/03/2026 17:35

When I was younger I tinted my lashes at home but I wouldn’t now as my skin is so sensitive post babies. A lash lift and tint was ok but not worth the money and time for me. Eyelash extensions were amazing but are a special occasion thing for me due to cost. I like the pre glued lash clusters. I have bought from Silly George but Lola’s Lashes look quite similar. They are really easy to use

BamberGirl · 12/03/2026 17:56

I also use UKLash serum (black tube, though have bought the white one to try next).
it’s amazing and well worth the price especially as the tube lasts for ages.
i also get a lash lift and tint which I love, just need a bit of clear mascara and they look great.

Unnomdeplume · 12/03/2026 20:35

thank you all esp the recs on the shorter lashes, I just want my eyes to look a bit more like they used to, anything more dramatic I'd rather save for an occasion more special than toddler group :)

I do my own clusters, from Unicorn Cosmetics. Far cheaper and faster than lash extensions and they last me around a week before I need to redo them, but you can reuse them

Unnomdeplume · 12/03/2026 20:51

I could just re-use the long, dark hairs mother nature deems fit to put on my chin in peri? that would be natural and recycling!

Ive been going for a Korean lash lift & The difference is unbelievable you couldn't really see my lashes at all before even with mascara.

RockingAmadeus · 13/03/2026 14:37

UK lash serum black tube. Absolutely amazing I don’t need to curl my lashes anymore! I get loads of compliments and asked if they are real.

namechange0998776554799000 · 13/03/2026 16:29

I started a thread on this recently. Bought uk lash (the prostaglandin one) based on recommendations and I'm very happy with it, no side effects so far
