Is there a ballerina trainer or sneakerina that doesn't give Hotter shoes vibes?

I like comfortable shoes and have loved the trainer trend in recent years but I think that's blowing over. I hear ballerina trainers or sneakerinas (hideous word) are the next big thing. They all seem to scream hotter shoes catalogue to me though! Has anyone seen any that won't make this mid 50s woman look like she's raided her mum's wardrobe?

Or suggest other non granny shoes that stay on your feet for commuting across London please?

I have just bought these from New Look. I wish my budget could have stretched to the puma speedcats or some adidas one but sadly not. Very pleased with the look and comfort of these New look ones but haven’t actually worn them out the house yet!

a tip, now I’ve ordered the ones I want in my size: If you’re wanting the Adidas Mary Jane’s but can’t afford £55 + and are a woman’s size 5 or under, you can buy the junior teenage size on the Next website for £35. Order a half size larger than you are. I got a 5.5, the largest one. Absolutely delighted with them and saved £20!

Maybe I could cut off my toe or my heel like the ugly sisters in Cinderella ... Think I'll just have to pay full price!! 😁

I'm looking at these too. I think the red ones are lovely but a bit bright for me. What are people's thoughts on the white ones with silver stripes? or the dark green ones? (I'm looking on the Next website)

I ordered a couple of pairs of the Adidas Barredas to try, but even the bigger pair were just slightly too small. I really liked them and the dark green was lovely.

I've just ordered the cream colour ones with black stripes - the only ones I could find left in the next size up. Fingers crossed. Also ordered a pair of Puma Speedcats to compare.

Because of thread I have bought the Adidas Barredas in silver. If I like the fit I am going to order the red as well. (really don't need them as bought 2 new pair of New Balance and Fitflop sandals the day before

I bought the (endlessly practical!) pale pink satin speedcats... arrived today. They're beautiful, but... they don't stay on my heel when I walk. It's like wearing flip-flops but more annoying. I NEVER buy pretty things like that. Gutted!!

I went to Oxford street and bought some in lilac. They do tend to slip off the heel.

How did you get on? I ordered the gold/natural but found the fit weird - catching my big toe even in the pair a half size larger than my usual. Sending them back this week

Got them from Next. The size 5 were out of stock the first time I looked so decided to take a punt on the 5.5. When I went to order them, the 5's were back in stock
