Exercise leggings that don’t fall down - is there such a thing?

I used to swear by cheap Matalan leggings but nowadays they are rubbish and fall down. I have just invested in a pair of Sweaty Betty power leggings. I was most excited for their first outing yesterday but they rolled down at the waist and I had to keep yanking them up 😩😩😩😩.

Any recommendations for a pair of high waisted decent leggings (that don’t hi light my 50something bum.!.). I do CrossFit, have a personal trainer and Pilates.

a hopeful thank you 🙏

I love all my halara ones, they are high waisted and very flattering

Frostynoman · 26/02/2026 11:15

My last two leggings from SB roll down. I can’t stand wearing them. I got some from Amazon that don’t

MiddleAgedDread · 26/02/2026 11:15

i have SB zero gravity leggings and they're fine but M&S good move are as good IMO.

tealandteal · 26/02/2026 11:17

I use a company called Rainbows and Sprinkles. I have had the black leggings for about 6 years and still look great but they also do patterned ones which I love. Some of those I have had for 8 years and they still stay up, no bobbling etc. I wear them a lot( most weeks) for running and day to day so it’s not like they don’t get a lot of use either.

SheilaFentiman · 26/02/2026 11:59

Another vote for m and s good move

ThatsPlentyIsa · 26/02/2026 12:05

M&S Goodmove again. I've got some Sweaty Betty Power/Zero Gravity leggings that stay put but they're all at least 5 years old, and there seems to be muttering about newer versions - and Goodmove is half the price.

mimbleandlittlemy · 26/02/2026 12:06

Just coming on to say M&S Goodmove as well. The ones I have have an internal draw string so you can tighten them which stops slippage, I find.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/02/2026 12:15

I’ve got some SB power with a wrap waist and they don’t move. But my Good Move ones are almost as good.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 26/02/2026 13:48

Fabletics power hold.

Plinketyplonks · 26/02/2026 13:51

I don’t think I’ve ever had leggings roll down. I get mine from Oysho, they last and last.

Onanotherhealthkick · 26/02/2026 15:28

Thanks all. It sounds like M&S might be the answer. Wish I’d asked on here before I splashed out ££ with sweaty Betty 😩😩

@Plinketyplonks - which oysho ones do you have? I’ve just seen them on sale from ASOS.

Gymshark leggings definitely don’t fall down.

Numberwang66 · 26/02/2026 16:06

Gymshark are great

Daisy54 · 26/02/2026 16:10

Sweaty Betty Power Gym leggings(mid rise). Have a cord to tighten the waist. The only leggings I wear to train myself and instruct classes (Pilates and resistance training). I also run regularly and they never fall down.

Livingoffroyalities · 26/02/2026 16:20

I’m fairly new to Sweaty Betty, so all my buys are from within the last year and I haven’t had any issues with their Power Leggings, they stay in place perfectly. I also have the Power Cycling Shorts, which don’t fall down either. It makes me wonder if the issue might be the size, maybe you need to size down?

Onanotherhealthkick · 26/02/2026 16:36

Mine are the 7/8 Power leggings. I bought a size small - I’m a 10 in normal clothes.

Sorry but I don’t remember. I usually order the ones with a good amount of compression (hold it all in!) and they are quite high waisted

Plinketyplonks · 26/02/2026 16:55

Ps I’ve only ever ordered from Oysho itself

cupfinalchaos · 26/02/2026 16:57

Lululemon I’ve washed them 100 times still
look the same and still stay in place.

CyclesPerfecta · 26/02/2026 17:02

Uniqlo leggings are fantastic for my power walking and running.

Gymshark leggings definitely don’t fall down.

Which style please? I’ve been looking at this brand but not sure which style to try.
Theres an awful lot of bum accentuation my 48 year old arse isn’t made for though….

Thundertoast · 26/02/2026 17:07

Aybl! I like the Balance ones, not the ones with the bum scrunch though, but they dont bunch, have regular sales and plenty on Vinted if you want to try.

fiorentina · 26/02/2026 17:22

I’ve never had a problem with the SB Powers falling down. Do they have the waist cord to tighten them? How frustrating. I think the quality has dropped recently but they still stay up!
