Exercise leggings that don’t fall down - is there such a thing?

I used to swear by cheap Matalan leggings but nowadays they are rubbish and fall down. I have just invested in a pair of Sweaty Betty power leggings. I was most excited for their first outing yesterday but they rolled down at the waist and I had to keep yanking them up 😩😩😩😩.

Any recommendations for a pair of high waisted decent leggings (that don’t hi light my 50something bum.!.). I do CrossFit, have a personal trainer and Pilates.

a hopeful thank you 🙏

i swear by decathlon or Tesco leggings they never roll down on me! Every other brand including M&S does!

I buy IUGA leggings from amazon - they are fab and don’t roll down.

They don’t do a 7/8 length which is annoying, but I wear the full length at 5’3 and it’s not bad.

Some of the uber high waisted ones are ridiculous and will inevitably roll down as the waist is so high. Look great while standing perfectly still but no good for actual exercise! The Iuga ones are high but not too high. And they have pocketses.

Could anyone confirm if any of these leggings are a non-shiny, non polyester type material please? I'd love some leggings that feel more like cotton or viscose, and don't make me feel all sweaty everywhere! (But still stay put and don't show lumps and bumps or pants when you squat!) Would really appreciate any pointers 😊

My SB ones only started slipping as I lost weight/changed shape. Sizing down sorted it out.

The IUGA ones I mentioned are totally matte and don’t feel sweaty (to me anyway). I know what you mean as I have a different brand which are shinier fabric and I hate them!

I have these! They are amazing aren't they?

Thought I would just try them and was massively impressed so went back and ordered a few more pairs. I love mine so much. Don't roll down, fit well, support but don't squeeze you and love the handy pockets for poo bags when walking the dogs and my phone.

Glowmode on shein...best ive had

Onanotherhealthkick · 26/02/2026 20:48

@ Florentino mine don’t have a cord. I thought that with all the stretch in them they wouldn’t need an extra tie 😕

You need the cord. I like the lululemon ones.

Gymshark, Blakely and Aybl are my go to brands. The trick (especially for the Gymshark ones) is to go for the high waisted style. The only time my Aybl leggings have rolled down is when they have been too big for me. Aybl’s sizing is more generous than the other two brands.

I have a late entry! I bought some Soft Soul leggings from the Show Up Club warehouse sale to try them out at a discount before committing to a full-price pair, and suffice to say… I will be committing to a full-price pair. Comfy, stretchy, squat proof, do not fall down. Ace.

Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself · 05/03/2026 17:39

It probably depends on your body shape but BAM enduro leggings are squat proof and do. Not. Shift. On me.. Plus they're made without PFAs.

I hated my SB ones and also don't get on with M&S or H&M. Weirdly the only other ones I liked fit-wise were a pair from Lidl!!

Ophir · 05/03/2026 17:42

I’m fifty something and swear by gymshark. They all stay up. I like lots of them. But the fold over waist ones are great, as I just pull them all the way up under my top for exercise!

Try the BAM ones, they're not made from polyester (bamboo and cotton mostly). And they are PFA free.

There are quite a few articles about how bad polyester is out there to work out in, not sure how true it all is 😕
