I too am undecided! I quite like them, though. But then I wear Birkies a lot.

It's difficult to tell without seeing them on with an outfit. I think they could look really quite cute or they could look a bit bizarre. I don't mind the gold bits though. They make me smile though and if I saw them in a shop I'd probably want to try them on.

They aren't particularly garish, but I really dislike that style of shoe, so I'm not the best person to ask!

I generally only wear black or red (sometimes white in spring/summer). Most of my bags are black with gold hardware, so I'd hopefully be erring on the cute side? 😂

I also like the chunky ones. I've narrowed it down to these or the black/gold.

Aimed at an ethnic group I’m not a member of my friends that are like them.

Some people on Mumsnet hate Birkenstocks and seem to be incredulous that anyone would like them, despite them being hugely popular/fashionable/cool for several years now, so they would hate any colourway you ask about.
Those that don't like them, it would be helpful for you to clarify if you dislike birks/bostons anyway, or is it specifically the ones the OP has linked?

@Melancholyflower loads of posters have said they wear/like Birks/Bostons but just don’t like that style.
